There is approximately 50 miles of Singletrack and Fireroad Trails in the park. The fireroads wind through the area and exit to Route 137 in Knox. Most of the singletrack are trails that will lead to ponds or the top of Frye Mountian (Fire Tower at Summit). The trails do not typically loop so returning over the same trail is usally neccesary. I would recommend taking a map of the area, people have spent an unplanned night in the park.
From intersection of Rout 137 and Route 220 (Knox Ridge/Hilltop Store)go south on Route 220 approximately 5 miles. Frye Mountian Entrance is on your left directly across from the Stevens Road. This entrance will provide access to most all of the roads and trails.
Summary: Total length is about 3 miles, half of it spent returning to the car on a road. It's a work in progress, but it is definetly exciting. I've ridden everything on my hardtail but I much prefer to blast it on the downhill bike. It can be pretty intense in spots (alot of roll offs / drops).
Recommended Route: I've been putting in a trail off the fire tower. If you go to the fire pit behind the tower and face the ocean you will see a gap that drops down a rock face. Take that. You'll eventually end up on an ATV trail that will take you back out to the main road.
Other recommended trails in the same area: I have to give it 5 stars cause I made it.

Summary: No real "singletrack" in area, at least that I could find. Really need map to guide you around area. Basic layout, but can't describe route good route under 500 words in this review. Primarly ATV trails. Trails don't dry out until June. Gravel roads make for easy riding, few small climbs to challenge you. 1/4 mile dirt/rocky trail to top of Frye Mountain worth trying, very do-able for novices (like me). Area used by equestrians extensively. In parking lot, I've seen 10+ horse trailers, but since area is so large, don't see many out on trails, especially the ATV trials. Horses seem to stay in fields and gravel road aras. Watch for vehicle traffic on gravel roads by locals.
Recommended Route: Alternate directions to area: from intersection of Route 3 and 220, take Route 220 north approximately 8 miles, look for Frye Mountain Management Area sign on right hand side of road. Follow signs' direction, taking a right onto Walker Ridge Road, head 1/8mile norht on road, pull into parking lot on left hand side of road. A few barns and snowmobile trail grooming sleds in vacinity.
