There are two places you can enter the HOBO Trail. The first is along the ‘beach’ area just to the south-east of the parking lot. Head along the bank of the river in a down-river direction and that will put you on the Yellow Trail (since it is marked with yellow markers) or River Trail. The second place you can enter the trail is at the south end of the parking lot about in the middle. There is a "NO ATV" sign at the entrance. This will put you on the Red Trail but if you take the first left you come to, it will put you over to the Yellow Trail. The Red Trail basically loops around to the northwest and will put you out someplace near the lift-station that is currently under construction near the park entrance road. If you see a green trail maker along the trail, it means that is an exit out to the Clyde Fant Pkwy bike trail. If you see a red marker on the Yellow Trail, it means "Warning." The Yellow Trail is what we chose to ride since it offers the MTB’er some great views, tight winding single-track, and some places to play on. Jason said the Yellow Trail is an “out & back” trail and not a loop. It offers a rider about 5 miles of trail action if you opt NOT to hit any of the numerous interconnecting and parallel trails within the network. The interconnecting trails offer the rider various ‘options’ to choose from and a rider can ride for a couple hours if they hit them all. You can bomb down a steep knarly downhill, you can hit a couple of “sweet jumps,” you can race your buddy side-by-side on any of the numerous parallel trail sections.

Summary:
Twisty, fast, fun. Few jumps, some Shore stuff (not very well built so ride at own risk).

I think the red arrows lead to the more technical stuff. But I found myself just turning every which way, just to follow a new path. I also made my own loops...I recommend the same, just finding a path you like and seeing how fast you can rip through it.

Recommended Route:
The loop that starts right next to the river is pretty fast, and will eventually lead to the other inner trails. I recommend starting there and then doing your own exploring.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bodcau, Lincoln Parish Park

Summary:
Cool trail that is easily reached by bike from the downtown riverfront casinos!

Trail is all single track and is a 5 mile out and back ride. The trail is well groomed and is very beginner/kid friendly. The trail runs in the woods parallel to the Red River and the Clyde Fant jogging trail.

There are a LOT of interconnecting trails in the network and you could spend a couple hours playing on them all. Make sure you check out the Hobo Camp!

A fun trail to ride on!

Recommended Route:
Yellow (River) Trail: Follow the yellow trail markers for a 5 mile out and back ride. Red Trail: A short loop that has some cool features. Green Markers: Exit the trail on to Clyde Fant Pkwy.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Monkey Trail, Barksdale Trail, Bodcau, Bistineau, Caney Lake, Ruston
