John Slidell Park

Hilly along drainage ditch. Basically it is the dirt used from the digging of the ditch. I is very tight and technical with new challenges being added monthly. The hilly trail is only about 1/4 of a mile but will be added to some technical and flat riding within the wooded part.

Summary:
The technical run (yes, there is only one) WAS the best in the New Orleans area before being bulldozed in a couple of key spots following huricane Katrina. "Loads" of my "play time" has been divided between moving dirt and riding it. There are still a couple of large pines blocking the run in a section I haven't got to yet.
The flat trails are overly wide and uneventfull and tend to hold water after a rain.... (but that's what Tide HE is for), and I'm going to add some excitement to them when I finish the technical trail. Come on out,... it's getting better all the time.

Recommended Route:
Park in the back lot, follow the paved trail to the bridge and cross the creek. Hang a left immediately over the bridge and get ready for a little technical.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bonne Carre spillway, new orleans. Hooper park baton rouge
