Weekend Warrior Summary: Well marked trail, with numerous areas that both trails cross each other, and access to the main roads for if you want to get off of it early.
there are quite a few climbs on this trail, nothing real big, but quite a few that you may end up walking up if you are still new.
a lot of the trails will have bunches of roots over them, so pay attention, i (as a first timer to any trail) didn't come across any roots that i could not go over or around. so i wouldn't say it is to hard. but it can catch you off guard.
there are facilities at the place, to wash your bike off afterwards along with places to stop and eat and camp...
make sure to bring your water, or other needs with you as the nearest service station is about 3 to 5 miles back up the road.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Friends had told me about the trail since I started riding in LA. The state is pretty flat, so the place to go is up north - almost all the way to Arkansas. Ruston is a cool little town and the trail in Lincoln Parish Park is about 5 miles north of the interstate on Farmerville.
I've spent a fair amount of time riding at Oak Mountain State Park in Birmingham, AL which has 17 miles of great trails. Although the elevation gains at Oak Mountain are much greater - the trail here is more technical (save for Blood Rock at Oak Mountain). Lots of quick ups and downs requiring plenty of rock/root hopping and quick turns. Your butt will be grabbing the saddle to keep from flying over the handlebars on the way down and to keep traction on the way up.
The trail is anchored by what is apparently a new (very easy) beginners loop around the inside perimeter of the park made up of fire roads (4.5 miles or so). It is well marked and a good warm-up. The advanced trail loops off of this trail into the park interior at several locations, and you end up with about 10 miles of technically difficult trail. You can bail out in many locations which is nice if you get tired or decide the trail is too much.
I was off the bike in a few spots - with one moderate spill in a simple section where I wasnt paying attention. I think in a couple/few rounds good bikers will master the trail - but I doubt anyone would ever get bored with it. It is too pretty and challenging. The one big downhill - TopoMax - lets you pick up some pretty serious speed. But its very doable, and should not scare anyone off.
The rest of the park is great, a nice beach, a paved running path, and I was the only one I saw on the trail. Recommended Route: Start down by the beach headed back toward the entrance.

Racer Summary: I have ridden and raced many different trails in the southeast, from Tsali to Hardrock in Ocala FL. to Oak Mountain in Bham AL, and I think that the trails at Lincoln Parrish Park In Ruston LA. are my favorite.
The trails have what I like to consider three different types of terrain. The first section is tight fast technical singletrack with a few fireroads to pass on and plenty of pine roots. Then you have the more open sections with some good sections for short technical climbing with this great section of switchbacks thrown in. After that the trail throws in the seven-bridges section with alot of up and down with rock, short steep hills and a crazy steep hill below the dam that brings you back to the start finish line.
There are also a couple of good jumps mixed in, one called Tomac hill, and the other called ski-jump. Both are a great place to get some good style points.. Over all I think that this trail is one of if not the best laid out and maintained trail in the souteast. Recommended Route: One way, Clockwise Other recommended trails in the same area: none

Weekend Warrior Summary: Lincoln Parish Park is by far one of the best trails in Louisanna. We rode the trail on the 30th of July. It was great. The trail network is maintained by somebody in the "know" Whoever you are you DA MAN! The park itself was well thought out. The only drawback to my outing was my riding partner broke his collar bone on the last hill before the parking lot. I plan on riding this trail every chance I get. I am stationed at Fort Polk, so I have a little bit of a drive. If you see me on a big black Banshee Scream stop me and say hello! Recommended Route: The standard 10 mile loop.
