Cross Country Rider Summary: I stand corrected, I was reviewing the Wild Azalea Trail. The Lake Kincaid trail is more of a beginner trail - but still a good trail. However I would not rate any trail in LA a 5, except maybe Ruston. Even our (NOMAMBO) trail at the Spillway would be a 3 at best (very close to this Lake Kincaid trail). To get to some classic 5 rating trails go to Clear Springs or Oak Mountain. Recommended Route: I haven't ridden this trail in a while not sure what it is like anymore. Other recommended trails in the same area: Ruston (best in LA), Hooper & Comite, Chicot, Spillway - for some road trips hit Womble or Ouachita in AR, Clear Springs in MS or Oak Mountain in AL.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I have to say coming from Hawaii I was expecting the worst however when I started on this trail I was pleased the scenery is very nice which alot of folks forget to see. It can run from 10, 15, to 31 depending where you get off my buddy and I always start in the parking lot. Now use your map because it will tie in to other trails and get you misorieneted...we did 50+ our first adventure. Watch out for the sandy bottoms and where full finger gloves(briars suck!) Anyway get on and ride it.

, from Houma, LA Summary: This is the third time I have ridden this trail. This time we started at the beginning at Valentine Lake and went all the way to the end at Woodworth. It actually about 27 miles (instead of 31 like noted on the map). Anyhow this trail rocks up to FS 273 right pass the Castor Creek Scenic Area. After this section you enter into the 5.5 miles of creek area. From here out to the end, the trail does not leave much to offer. Lots of ditches to cross and (thankfully) trees down across creeks to cross. There were a lot of sections that were not crossable by riding through. I would not reccomend ridign past this point. I began to get frustrated more than anything and it ruined my day - even though up to thi point I was in awe of the trail overall. Ran into a deer and a flock of turkeys. All 3 times I have rode this trail not once have I ever ran into another biker. For a good workout do the 15 miles up to FS 273 then turn around and head back or park a truck at this point and cruise back to the campgrounds. Nice facilities especially in the primitive areas (Valentine & Lake Kincaid). Recommended Route: Start at either Lake Kincaid camping area or Valentine lake and follow trail to FS 273 and STOP before going into the 5.5 miles crekk area. Other recommended trails in the same area: Chicot State Park (mostly scenic), Hooper & Comite (fun riding), Clear Springs (one of the best).

, from New Orleans Summary: Well I dropped in @ Evangeline parking area of the Wild Azalea Trail and went until I came upon the forst intersection, Lamotte Creek tr. and went north from there. This take you all around the south shore of the lake through some pretty nice topography and great scenery...I couldn't believe I was still in Louisiana, but I'm from New Orleans so, hey. The Kincais Loop reconnects with Wild Azalea trail which I rode about 3mi. further west before turning around and heading back to the lot. Anyway, once I finished riding I'd saved enough energy to hike back into the forest and set up camp. I also hiked and camped again the next day, just because it was so enjoyable. On a side note, I stayed on trails (singletracks) throughout the whole trip, only crossing a f.s. road a handful of times. Recommended Route: Kincaid Loop Other recommended trails in the same area: Wild Azalea
