Lots of technical riding with some fast single track. Extremely well maintained by the local bikers.

Summary:
I travel with my work and try to do some research on the local trails where I will be going. This one is a jackpot!!! Winding and twisting with little climbing. My SS was very happy here. Lots for the trail run near a scary looking swamp!

Obviously a lot of work being done. I could see new loads of churt added to wet spots.

Recommended Route:
Hook up with a local or scout out on your own.

Summary:
Trail system is actually 2 separate trails.

1. Comite: Comite is a fast trail with both a beginner and expert loop. Recently, another quarter mile or so was added by BRAMBA (www.bramba.org) to bring the expert lap up to right around 5.5 miles.

2. Hooper: Hooper is a bit more technical trail and depending on the path you take can be from 8 to 12+ miles. This is a very fun trail and because it is so different than the Comite trail, gives you a different kind of ride.

Over all being a native to the area we are VERY lucky to have the trails and the people who spend ALOT of their time keeping them maintained!

Recommended Route:
I recommend taking the RED arrows (expert), there is alot of really great scenery. Even if you aren't an expert, you can walk the really tough stuff.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
N.O. Spillway trail

Summary:
I rode this trail system for the first time this past weekend. This system has routes for advanced and beginner riders. I found that the trail was not marked very well and I often turned onto the beginner route by mistake. I rode the course the day after a heavy rain so some of the technical parts were eroded. If this trail was properly maintained and marked I would recommend it. Since it wasn't when I rode it I would skip it and head for Comite.

Recommended Route:
Skip Hooper and go to Comite.

Comite

Summary:
This is my second time on this trail system. I must say that it has improved since my last visit. Mostly due to the fact that this time I found the Comite section. My first time I only rode the Hooper section.

The Hooper section is cleaner but it still lacks markings so you end up doing things twice. The terrain is eroded which makes the technical section a little more difficult. I did find a section where I could do a sweet jump. Overall this section is average and not in par with the Comite side.

Once I found the Comite side I thought that I was a world away from the previous trail. I actually rode it twice since I was pleasantly surprised. It has some technical areas but nothing I would call difficult. Ride this trail as fast as you can and it gets better. I even enjoyed the tabletop jump a lot. Got about three feet of air off of it.

Next time I come in town I will go straight to Comite and not waste my time with Hooper. Great work on the Comite side.

Recommended Route:
Comite only. Three times as fast as you can. Watch out for the spiders.

Summary:
Intermediate level trails. These trails are a lot of fun! I rode both Comite & Hooper. Very well maintained. Mainly single track. Hard packed for the most part. Some technical areas. Several climbs as well as decents (none of them very long on either end ie: up &/or down). All of the bridges were in great shape! The locals do an excellent job of keeping these trails up to par. I hooked up with a few of the local riders & got the $2 tour. It was alot of fun! I'd recommend these trails to anyone that's gonna be in the area. It's well worth it. Thanks to John, Aaron, James, and Dave for letting me tag along. I look forward to riding with you guys again.

Recommended Route:
I followed the directions given on this site. Found the trail with no problems.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Comite
