Lots of good climbs and downhills. Pretty technical when encountering roots rocks or even some obstacles people have built into the trail.

Trail Directions
Take any entrance to the park and go around the loop to the top of Hogans Fountian. There is a trailhead behind the fountain. There are also many other great entrances to other trails, however Hogans Fountain is a good place to start. After that look on the sides of the road all around the loop for new trails. Good for the advancing intermediate rider. Good variety.

Summary:
I really enjoyed the trails...once I found people that knew their way around. The trails are very poorly marked and are very broken across roads and fields.
The trails themselves were great, everything from speed sections to technical sections. There are a lot of trails, if you know where to find them. I was unable to find any real trail maps anywhere.
I would certainly recommend these trails. The only thing that needs changed is the total lack of trail markings. This is a simple detail to fix, it is just a matter of someone actually doing it. Marking is the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five.

Occasional hikers, but not often enough to hinder a good ride.

Recommended Route:
Whatever you can find. Trails are poorly marked.

Summary:
I LOVE the trails in Cherokee. I can be on the trail within minutes of my house. The single track trails are technical in some sections, and other sections are fast and fun. You can go forever. I have a shorter route that is about 40 minutes, but this can be extended to hours when you include the Wilderness trail and the trail that is behind the golf course.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Waverly Park

Summary:
Please be advised of the recent signage from the Local Metro Parks Department. Do to the unusual amount of Rouge trails spurting up they are closing many of them. They have also made everything South of the Creek (Including Hogans Fountain) OFF LIMITS. DO NOT RIDE as you could jeprodize the remaining access.

Summary:
I ride cherokee twice a week. I live really close but that's not the only reason I ride there so often. The trails at cherokee are a lot of fun once you figure out or are shown the loop there. There is a lot of twisty turny singltrack with medium hills and roots and rocks and technical stuff. It's a great workout and great fun to ride. There is one place in the park where there are a lot of gay guys walking around but this is only a half mile section in about 12 mile loop from seneca park to cherokee and then the wilderness loop.

Recommended Route:
I like to park near the wilderness loop trailhead and proceed to cherokee first doing a loop there and finishing up with the 2 mile wilderness loop. This makes for a 9 mile ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Briar Hills is really fun with 5 or 6 miles of trails. The favorite in the louisville area is Otter Creek which is outside of the city and I have only been there once. Waverly Park is hillier than cherokee and harder to navigate through but really nice.

Summary:
Starting at Hogans fountain, the trail starts on the oposite side of the fountain from the parking lot. This trail is outstanding and offers good climbing, downhill, and technical sections. I went both directions afer a short easy downhill behind the fountain. The trail to the left went down to the creek and then you go over a bridge to who knows where, but eventually I found my way to other loops and back to the top at the fountain, just keep trying the loops off the road you will find adventure, what fun. You guys in Louisville are lucky, this is a great place to ride.

Recommended Route:
Just go to Cherokee park and find the fountain at the top of the hill, the trail head is on the other side of the fountain

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Haven't ridden any other trails
