Fort Leavenworth Trail
6 reviews
 4.33 of 5

Trail starts just inside the west gate of the reservation. It is primarily singletrack, with a combination of rocks and roots in some sections. 2-3 fairly good climbs and a couple of rocky semi-technical descents. Some log obstacles to negotiate. Be aware this is a multi-use area and there are other users in the area. Web address provided has ride schedule.

Summary:
The trail, as described on the previous posts, no longer exists. I moved here this winter and was excited at the write ups, but when I went looking for the trails I found that they'd been overgrown, cut off by force protection fences (Jesse James Canyon), and blocked by fallen trees. Most of the exploration I did was back by the Hunt Club and the Hunt club kennels.

Now this isn't to say that some concerted effort couldn't open the trails up again, but for now there isn't much there.

Summary:
This is in addition to an earlier review. This trail gets very mucky after wet weather. I recommend giving it 24-48 hours after a rain or snow melt for it to dry out a little. Other than wet weather, it is still a great trail. Some new trails have been cleared that make for about a 2-3 hour loop ride--some of it with good downhill sections and technical sections.

Summary:
Just in from Germany where we had some awesome trails, but this one reminds me of home. Good, fast single track with enought hills to keep you in fighting shape! Apx. 12 miles of track depending on what sections you take.

Summary:
This is a well maintained singletrack trail. It is technical at some points but is great for beginners as well. One main trail offers a good ride but the offshoots and alternate paths are fun too.

Summary:
Great trail. Almost entirely single-track with some fire road. Challenging uphills and fast downhills. Fit for all skill levels and enough technical spots for the more advanced. Good times to be had a night as well.

Recommended Route:
One main route and working on adding others. Still working on marking the trail so it would be best for newby's to ride with the group rides- 3 x weekly (T-Th-Sun).
