Weekend Warrior Summary: I usually walk this trail as it is so beautiful. Stretch between Cottage Grove and Rosedale is the best. The whole thing is flat. I have seen tons of deer, turkeys, even a beaver and a huge turtle in the creek. Enjoy our trail. Its the best.

, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa Summary: I actually ride this trail several times a week and obviously I enjoy it or I wouldn't do it. I generally start in the middle (at the Bertram Rd trailhead) and ride to both ends, generally riding to the Cottage Grove end first then back to the Cole Street trailhead and back to the middle.
The trail is in the best shape that I can remember and is hard and smooth. On My recumbent bike I can manage it in under an hour when I am in good form. About an hour and 10-15 when I am lazing along. If you are looking for gnarly single track, this isn't it! but if you want a relaxing ride through nice woods with low stress, this is your animal! Very nice scenery on the whole route, but nicer on the north end (Cottage Grove to the Nature Center) I recommend this as a good ride, It is ever better if you have a significant other that likes to cruise along and watch things rather than race. if relaxed riding is your favorite, this is it! I like this trail! But watch out for occasional horse exhaust and deer that somethings dart into the trail. Recommended Route: I recommend starting from teh Nature Center Parking lot (off Bertram Rd) or the parking lot near Bertram road and Mt Vernon Rd and ride to each end. Other recommended trails in the same area: Cedar River Trail (paved, and smooth, use road tires!) Cedar Valley Nature Trail long and straight!

, from Marion, IA, USA Summary: This trail is excelent for the beginning to intermediate rider. The trail is conducive to mountain bikes as well as hybrids and tougher street bikes. The trail is crushed limestone and pretty well maintained. From East Post Road the trail follows Indian Creek very closely. This makes for a very scenic ride winding around the creek and over it a few times. The path is wide enough for cyclists to pass each other. The portion of the trail along the Cedar River is less scenic and is mostly an access road for the high-tension power lines. Recommended Route: I usually park at the trailhead on Cottage Grove Parkway. The best part of the trail (IMHO) is from there to the Indian Creek Nature Center. After that there isn't much in the way of woods, but it is a good ride of 14+ miles to the end & back.
