Weekend Warrior Summary: I would have never thought a trail as fun as this could be located on the edge of cedar rapids. There are quite a few nice trails but without trail markings you kinda ride aimlessly. Great place to ride for a couple of hours when Sugar Bottom is closed or want a change of scenery. Other recommended trails in the same area: sugar bottom

Cross Country Rider Summary: Nice system. Depending on how you loop it, you can get pretty good flow, or you can keep it technical and uphill. Lamba has done a great job of building this system, and it's still growing. Beverly offers plenty of smiles per mile, and the flora and fauna just add to the enjoyment. It's hard to do a lap without seeing deer up close and personal, the view from the meadows is great, and the other riders are friendly and helpful. Expect your mouth to water, as there's a grill burning at the trailhead most evenings.
Recommended Route: Change it up...keeps things interesting. Other recommended trails in the same area: Sugarbottom

Weekend Warrior Summary: You can read past posts on the history of the trail system, but if you want a solid trail system in Iowa to ride this is the one. Iowa is not Moab, it's not the East Coast trails that are in featured pictorials of Bike Magazine. If you want a trail system that offers alot in a compact package this is the one. This over weight weekend warrior finds the trails to be more than a workout. The trail has a mix of rocks, log rides, jumps, roller coaster ramps with xc and up and down hills scattered throughout. Check out lambaonline.com for up to date info (forum style) on the trails. Recommended Route: The trails are bi-directional so go for it. I tend to follow the few arrows that are posted and start with the trail behind the trail head bench. Just be on the look out for trail walkers/runners i have come across non bikers enjoying the trails aswell. Other recommended trails in the same area: Of course Sugar Bottom in North Liberty, and the Decorah's trail system which I hooked up with Luther College Wresling team to ride with but the local shops are also great.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Wow! What a neat trail system. I am from the area and didn't even know there was a Beverly Park. I guess it was just woods that were protected b/c it has native and rare Bur Oak trees. Two years ago a group (LAMBA) got together and cleaned-up the area to make some fantastic inner city trails. They are always improving the layout and I am never disappointed when I ride there. They have about 5 miles of interconnecting loops. The trails are bi-directional b/c of the limited land available. There are not any long climbs but some nice steady grades for a good cardio workout. For those that like a little challenge, there are natural and man-made obstacles! The people of LAMBA are always itching to show newcomers some nice routes to take; just post up on their forum at www.lambaonline.com that you are coming the Cedar Rapids for a ride. Keep in mind, it is not a large state or national area so take different routes to keep it interesting.
Recommended Route: Depending on your conditioning and time allowed, I recommend you try a different route each time. That is the beauty of Beverly; there isn't one best or correct way to go. Choosing one route may "flow" better, but the other may create a new challenge. Other recommended trails in the same area: Sunderbruch in Davenport, IA Decorah.. Decorah, IA Sugar Bottom in North Liberty, IA Seven Oaks in Ames, IA

Cross Country Rider Summary: Beverly Park currently offers the only good single track riding available in the Cedar Rapids area. The park is unique because it is home to the last virgin grove of Burr Oaks. LAMBA (Linn Area Mountain Bike Association) is responsible for the development of the trails and they have done a great job. Up until April of 2006, the park had seen little use except by as location for illegal dumping of unwanted junk. LAMBA did a thorough job of cleaning out the abandoned junk and litter and then started developing the trails. The LAMBA volunteers are rapidly adding new trails new trails and features are constantly being added. All of the trails are are bidirectional so keep your head up. Since this is a newer endeavorer, there are no trail maps at the trail head and if you plan to visit the park I would recommend trying to hook up with someone who is familiar with the area. Until you are familiar with the trails it can seem like a maze, but after 4-5 trips out I was able to link everything together in a way that flowed well and I can ride for about an hour without riding the same section more than once. LAMBA has developed the trails with the intention of having a quality riding experience that suits a variety of riding abilities and styles. I would classify this trail as cross country style of riding with some interesting features like log skinneys. Other recommended trails in the same area: Sugar Bottom - near North Liberty, Iowa
Local Parks System - Decorah, Iowa
