Weekend Warrior Summary: Im not sure if anyone is talking about the same thing here.... let me explain this to all of you
I have explored basically all of mason city mountain bike trails and they have loads of potential, but there are not much determined mountain bikers here well none that i know of..... (EMAIL ME)
The trail you guys are talking about is now called quarry lake loop and is a part of lime creek conservation area.. if you ride the quarry loop wait untill you get to the stretch with the 2 entrances to the wild turkey loop (awesome!) now comb the lakeside of that trail and you will find a very distinct entrance, you have to walk it first and there is a direction to it you will be able to tell if you are going the right was if there is a pine tree to the left about ten feet in. this is the biggest remaining part of the trail ( there are other little fragments but this one is the best) if you need help finding it or just need someone to go with, im almost always available, Roadrunnerbradley@hotmail.com i can show you around Recommended Route: Just contact me and i will show you, i'm sixteen soo i don't really know any road names or anything .lol. just E-mail me Other recommended trails in the same area: Other lime creek trails, macnider woods durt jumps (also in mason city)
XD

, from Mason City, IA Summary: This trail could be good, in fact it is good. Except for when my face and legs get tore up by all the uncut vegetation. I heard Mason City had some well organized mtb riders, why haven't they maintained this trail? Recommended Route: The directions are good, you can also get to it from the beginning of the cart path at the golf course. Other recommended trails in the same area: I just moved here so I don't know about much, the Lime Creek trails are pathetic. Someone said there are more trails there though and they're good.

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Madison Wisconsin Summary: Due to nice weather this fall I was able to ride this trail over Thanksgiving break and just today at the beginning of my X-mas break. The bottom of this pit area is pretty tore up by off road vehicle so the riding down there is lame. The quarry rim trail is pretty cool because it's fast, technical, dangerous but short and narrow enough to keep the off road vehicle from tearing it up worse than my x-girlfriend. Speaking of my x-girlfriend some dude were rock climbing a part of the quarry wall, they said the climb was named "x-girlfriend" because it's so damn loose, sweet... Recommended Route: Combine this ride with other Mason City rides for a decent work out... Other recommended trails in the same area: Paulsen's Point, Lime Creek, The Soar Trail... Take a trip to Floyd if you're into dodging horses, hillbillies and fallen trees.

, from Garner, IA Summary: I don't think this trail is getting ridden enough, there were lots of annoying whips when I rode it. Pretty cool though, do some trail maintenance jerks. Recommended Route: Park by the road and go. Other recommended trails in the same area: Pilot Knob, Fort Defiance

, from Mason City, IA Summary: This trail isn't near as exciting as I expected. The trail is technical only in that you have to be able to hold a straight line, otherwise the trail is pretty easy riding. It is July here in Iowa, so the weeds were good and thick. I must say that the trail is VERY short! It took 20 min to ride it out and back. If you are already in the area it might be worth checking out for fun, but don't travel any distance just to try this one. I would probably give it 3 "stars" if it were longer, but as is it only deserves 2. Recommended Route: See other descriptions, only one way to get there, and only one way to ride it. Other recommended trails in the same area: I'm new to the area, so the only other trails I've ridden are in the Lime Creek area.
