Cross Country Rider Summary: While this trail mostly lacks technical true single track, a definite single track line has formed on the trails. Other wise they are mostly double track like most DNR Iowa land trails. Wish they'd let single track be built, this terrain is PERFERCT for some truely epic singletrack loops. But I'm distracted. The riding here is good fun. There are two or three challenging climbs, and a few fast downhills with some good sized rock gardens thrown in for good measure. Since there are so many options for loops, one can build in an easy 3-4 hour ride with out doubling up trail. Recommended Route: Get on and ride! Be sure to grab maps before you head out - there is a maze of trails. Other recommended trails in the same area: Decorah City trails. La Riviere Park in Prarie du Chien. Pikes Peak State Park. Sidie Hollow Trails near Viroqua.

, from Decorah Summary: The combination of scenery, 500 feet of elevation change and a variety of riding surfaces makes YRF one of my favorite riding facilities in the tri-state area. The climbing is physical and can be technically challenging, the downhills fast and exciting. When your'e through riding, there is great camping and fishing available at the park also. This is a mult-use facility - please be aware of hikers and horses. Recommended Route: We recommend parking at the ranger station as you enter the park from the west. An access to the trail is at the south end of the parking lot. It can be tough to find your way around - there is a maze of trails. Contact us for a map of the area that can be useful for cyclists. Other recommended trails in the same area: Decorah Parks
