Weekend Warrior Summary: Yes, the 'bash is flat. Yes, you can ride both MTB and Hybrids on it. Yes, it's long and made up on never ending 'hills' made up of slight grades. Yes, the 'bash can totally kick your ass.
I noticed that many MTB'ers on this site failed to mention the VAST array of 'offtrail' trails (both horse and MTB) that line the main trail... Many of these are pretty damn technical and have incredibly huge climbs to the top of the Loess bluffs.
Is the 'bash flat?
Absolutely.
Can you get a great hill workout in the 'bash's Loess bluffs?
You betcha. Recommended Route: Jump on at CB and ride, ride, ride.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Excellent trail. Crushed gravel. Smooth enough to be good on 700 X 23C or greater. Thinner tires would probably not do well for the trail. The Ice Cream stop at the trail northern starting point (small park south of School for the Blind) was a nice way to end a family ride. Recommended Route: Start at the park just south of School for the Blind. Other recommended trails in the same area: Keystone, Omaha NE.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I usually ride from C.B. to silver city or further if I have time. Loads of deer, rabbits & other small critters, even seen a bob cat south of S.C once. It's a great ride in the summer because the canopy keeps the trail cooler than the regular temp. Friendly people, great ride, if you've never been, stop wasting time on the concrete trails and go check it out. Recommended Route: C.B To blanchard . Go to the end then back up to Shanondoah , get a hotel room, eat at the depot deli and back to C.B. the next morning Other recommended trails in the same area: N/A

, from Omaha, NE Summary: My first ride on this trail was yesterday. I have heard about this trail for a while, but was a little nervous about riding my recumbent on a dirt trail. However, the trail was mostly hard pack, with very little loose sand and crushed limestone. I had no problems at all. A few recreational riders are planning a mid-July trip all the way to the end. Recommended Route: Start in CB and go from there as far as you want.

, from Golden Valley, MN Summary: Trail was in poor condition. Excessive ruts, lots of evidence of motorized vehicles tearing it up. Had a near miss with a motorcycle. Could be nice with better maintenance. Recommended Route: Got on at Council Bluffs, went south to Silver City and back. Other recommended trails in the same area: Stopped at the "Ice Cream Shoppe" in Silver City. My wife went to the restroom while I studied the menu. The woman behind the counter snarled "just using the bathroom, or are you going to buy something". Very unfriendly. Bought some water and ice cream. They didn't even say "thanks".
