Ridden Trail: Once a year

Reviewed by: Metis
, from Denver, CO Summary: Good trail all around. More of a XC trail than anything else. there is a need for riding multiple loops for a decent lenght ride. For a longer ride tie in with McFarland Park just down the road. Recommended Route: warm up with the east side, hit the west, and finish hard with the east again. Other recommended trails in the same area: McFarland Park, Sopper's Mill

, from Ames Summary: Flat and fast. A nice variety of terrain, from the woods to tall grasses to almost desert areas. The east side is definitely the most fun, but don't miss the little connecting trail between the east and west - it's pretty fun. Fun place to ride in the winter - snow adds a whole new dimension. Speed is what makes these trails worth riding - you can really hammer. Beware of horses. Yield to them, say hello to their people.

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Des Moines Summary: The west side is good as a warm-up, but I think that I would stick entirely to the east side on my next visit. Nice single track (but short)with some quick ups and downs. Could use a few more obstacles on the paths. Overall, its a nice intermediate trail. In areas its a bit overgrown but still rideable. Might be better off riding it in the fall. Watch out of horses and hikers. Recommended Route: I would say if you are looking for some intermediate single track stick with the east side. The trails are fairly easy to find...I think I got to most of them.

, from Des Moines, IA Summary: West is slow and good for beginers and warming up, it can get old quickly. The east is much more dificult in places and thus more fun. Watch out for the itch weed. The only complaint is there is only a small section of tecnical area. Recommended Route: Start at the beach at the West side, long flat trails great to get warmed up. Bike over to the East trail, there is a tecnical section next to the parking lot (this is the best loop in the park).
