Nearly all singletrack. Great biking for beginner & intermediate riders, rocky sections, shallow ravines, a few climbs....without being overwhelmed. Lake, picnic &camping areas.

Summary:
I notice that this trail has not been reviewed for a long time, so I think an update is due. I would consider this my "home" trail as it is only a 15 minute drive from my home, and I ride it several times a year. This trail is in excellent riding condition, and is a total blast to ride. The gravel sections mentioned in other reviews have grown over to a great single track section that I use to "rest up" for the next fast section. I find this trail challenging and technical when ridden as fast as you can go. It has several rock garden sections (many "endo" chances here so pick your line carefully), two stream crossings, and plenty of fast technical sections to keep even the most hard core rider happy. It is 6 miles long, and I usually only do one lap, but if you need more, then stop at the beach for a quick swim, then do the trail the reverse direction. I usually go clockwise, but unlike some trails, this trail is totally different when ridden the opposite direction. I would rate this the most fun to ride in Southern Indiana (except for Scales Lake possibly), as most of the other good ones like Birdseye have been damaged by horse riders. Take the trip to Perry County to check out Tipsaw, I don't think you will be dissapointed

Recommended Route:
I like clockwise, but the trail is a blast in either direction

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Birdseye (lots of horse tracks), Mogan ridge east or west.

Summary:
Short trail. Contains some technical rock navigating. This trail was much better before the DNR decided to rock a two-mile stretch. No idea why. The trail hadn't been torn up by bikes or horses (no horses allowed).

Summary:
Excellent trail best suited for an intermediate rider. There many roots and sharp rocks along the trail, so somes sections can be chalanging. Trail is about 6 miles and took about 2 hours, but we didn't push too hard. I'm looking forward to going back again soon.

Recommended Route:
Take 64 west toward st. louis, and take exit 79 (hwy 37) turn left and drive about 6 miles to the park entrance (don't forget to get an Indiana trail pass at the gas station about 1/4 mile before the entrance). Turn right at the Tipsaw lake sign. The trailhead is well marked and located just before the gatehouse. Turn left and park just in front of the trailhead. We went to the right and through the campground. It got a bit confusing as we neared the beach, but we found the trailhead at the far end of the parking lot.

Summary:
This trail has some short climbs, rocky sections on North side of lake, 2 challenging stream crossings, and a muddy/soft section on North side of Dam. It is 95% single track. The only thing missing are logs to jump/clear. Seems that hikers/bikers clear them off. During the summer there are bathrooms/picnic area/swimming available. Depending on conditions my daughters(7&10 yrs. old) can accompany me and enjoy most of the ride.

Recommended Route:
Park just before the main entrance to swimming area/pavillion. There is a dirt road on your left with a parking area. Ride either direction on loop.
