Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: Fun Trail. Not the most challenging trail in the world, but its a blast to ride, really fast through the beginning and ending technical sections. The technical elements are fun, there is a drop off, several rock obstacles, a steep 7-8ft climb near the end of the trail, several table top bridges, etc. The climbs back and forth over the levee provide a rollercoaster feel. The trail is packed pretty hard, which makes it fairly fast. The trail is also fairly wide and well maintained (probably due to its high traffic rate). The back half (after Interstate 465) is a nice change up in that it is more cardio / fitness oriented. It is primarily flat grassland with an inordinate amount of twists and turns. The trail here is also somewhat sandy, which increases the rolling resistance and your cardiovascular effort. The scenery isn't as good as other locations (Westwood), but who cares when you are flying through the woods. Other recommended trails in the same area: Westwood, Rangeline Nature Preserve

Cross Country Rider Summary: See new review under "96th Street."
Especially note: NO NIGHT RIDING. The land owner is adamant about this, and threatens to revoke ALL access to his land! The underlying reason is poaching by 4x4s and m/c's, but from 1/4 mile it's hard to tell them from a bicycle with a HID headlight.
Also, stay off of TRTP when it's been raining. The trail's in a flood plain, and gets soft and is easily damaged. Check the HMBA's Message Board for current conditions.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I can't say anything bad about this trail. It is the trail that introduced me to mountain biking. It's on the north side of Indianapolis, so don't expect anything to spectacular. It's winding single track through the woods. It's the only palce to ride anywhere near it, and it's also the most ridden trail in Indiana. Again, it's nothing spectacular with huge clims, decents, or drops. But, it is winding single track, and has introduced me, and who knows how many other people, to the wonderful sport of mountain biking. Because it is so winding, if you want to make it more difficult to stay up, just ride it faster. I did that and went to the hospitol in an ambulance. So, it's not competely taim. I absolutely love it.

Racer Summary: Sweet trail! You can really get a flow going, feels like you are on a roller coaster. 8 miles long loop that has a "one way" approach. It is THE place to ride in Indy, and you can meet a few riders since it is usually pretty busy with bikers. A nice place for beginners to advanced riders. The faster you go the harder it is. However beginners can break halfway through for a short 4 mile loop. The aerobic difficulty is based on how hard you push it. Overall 4 chillys

Weekend Warrior Summary: Since it was my first time riding this trail, I went slow to get a feel for the trail. It was definately fun and since this was the first mountain bike trail I have ridden it was a bit technical at first. I rode it just after it rained so the trail was a bit muddy, but that made it more fun. Several good hills. Recommended Route: Follow the signs.
