Racer Summary: This is the worst trail I have ever rode. The one cool thing is the bridge. The trail has no flow and has way to many side trails, I had no idea what to ride. Recommended Route: None Other recommended trails in the same area: Dont waste your time on this one go to TK Lawless or Winnona Lake!

Cross Country Rider Summary: I've been riding this trail for about 2 years and consider it my 'home' trail. It has a lot of variety. The beginner track is simply that. It's a trail to just get warmed up on.
The intermediate is a fun ride not too hard. It leads to many small trails too that lead back to the intermediate trail, such as the Canadian Turnpike which has some gnarly uphill climb. My favorite part of the ride is the technical log ride in the middle of the course. Also, at the end of the course there is an nice tabletop jump.
The expert trail is without a doubt my favorite though. It's a long gnarly trail with lots of tech stuff. Small corners, insane climbs, and lots of jumps. There is the legendary Red Rocks a huge jump that would launch you probably 15 feet in the air. I haven't tried it. There is also the rollercoaster which is this insane wooden well rollercoaster built about 10 feet from the ground. Near the end of this trail you ride over a huge stack of logs then you can either go left or right. If you head left you just ride down and hit a jump. If you go right you go over a bridge and then you can ride down this all tech'd out tree with this jump at the end. Right when you walk into the park you see this epic log ride to your left, I can't really explain it. I wrecked on it once and got knocked it. It was so sweet.
I think this trial is awesome. Way better than Potato Creek or Bethal trails. If you in Northern Indiana, this is the place to go to. If you have any questions send me an email. Other recommended trails in the same area: Lawless (haven't been yet, but heard its awesome)

Weekend Warrior Summary: Yesterday was the 2nd time riding. The first was too muddy to be riding anywhere, so my first impressions were properly put on hold.
That said.
Fast. The trails are fast. They are nicely cut out. They have great turns and switchbacks. Only a few places where an arrow marker may have fallen and/or need replaced.
Overall though it was fast. I was able to get some incredible speed--on a unknown trail, mind you. (I never felt unsafe) I love the finish!
Recommended Route: I did the (I think) beginner's trail once, and the intermediate twice. I will be on the expert trails next...though that ramp probably won't make the to-do list. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Boys Club/Winona Lake trails are my backyard. If you havn't been, you need to go for a day. Just make sure you stop in at Trailhouse before and/or after your ride. Great people.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Excellent trail for any riding style. There is everything from the beginner to the advanced section. Recommended Route: I run the beginner and intermediate pretty much every week. When I have others with we continue on to the advanced as well. Other recommended trails in the same area: Love Creek, Potato Creek

Cross Country Rider Summary: Whether you're a beginner learning to ride singletrack, or an experienced rider looking for some cool technical stuff, Rum Village offers something for everyone. I fall into the beginner category, so I can't comment on the technical stuff, but the beginner and intermediate trails are a lot of fun. Lots of twists and turns, ups and downs, but nothing too tight or steep. Of the trails I have ridden, this one has the best finish.
PROS: Well maintained, nice variety.
CONS: Some area residents seem to view the park as their personal trash can.
OVERALL: Seems to be well suited for just about anyone-Beginners looking to gain confidence and experienced riders looking for either fast miles, or technical riding. Recommended Route: Depends on what you feel like riding. Other recommended trails in the same area: Bluhm County Park, Imagination Glen, Potato Creek(opens 7-28-07)
