Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail is now closed, and has been for some time. I got down to Terre Haute in the fall of 2005, and the trail had a nice little sign "bike trail closed." Being the only good trail in the area, my friends and I continued to ride it until in the spring of 2006, we arrived and were greeted by bulldozers. Apparently the area is being logged, and so dies another great trail. The latest thing I've heard is that the trail will re-open after logging and is currently owned by one of the local bike shops, Terre Haute Cycling and Fitness. Other recommended trails in the same area: NONE, that's the problem. Most of the Terre Haute Parks have great trails with "NO BIKES ALLOWED" signs. Contact me if you want to help change this.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Great trail for my skill level and more.
Nice single track with plenty of technicals, turns, fast downs and a few bridges thrown in for fun (these keep the ATV's off the trail). There are enough riders on this trail to keep it in really good shape but not be crowded.
I marked 4 miles on my computer but there are some offshoots that one might explore.
Dino had a race here 2003 and is still marked with surveyor tape to keep you on route. BSG's tell me there are plans to expand the system. Recommended Route: Start at the N.E. corner from the shelter, stay left until you hit singletrack. The first splinter trail is a left turn, but stay right and dig in. It just gets better and better from there on. Other recommended trails in the same area: Kickapoo State Park, Danville Ill.
Nebo Ridge, Story Ind.

Racer Summary: This is a great little trail! A few thrills, tight sections, and fun bridges make this a very enjoyable ride.
If you live anywhere nearby please get involved and help the riders who built it continue and add more trail. There is a strong possibility DINO will visit for a race in the near future... Recommended Route: Start to the right side, stay right each turn until you hit singletrack. Then go with the flow. Other recommended trails in the same area: Linton

Weekend Warrior Summary: The fellas from Fat Bikes worked on this new trail and it's great so far. The outer loop (about 4 miles) is done. Now they're working on the interior crazy stuff. Pretty much stuff for anyone. All singletrack with some hard climbs, steep drops and cool bridges thrown in to keep everybody happy. There are off-shoots to wander around on so you can ride for quite a long time if you feel the need. It's nice to see some hard stuff over here in Indiana. At least really close to my house. Recommended Route: Not really, just dig in!!

Weekend Warrior Summary: Very very good. I wouldn't expect so much from a place in Terre Haute. The trails seemed to be kept up really well. A good mix of fast and technical, at least for my skill level. Definately worth the time if you are from around here, and don't feel like heading all the way to Brown County. Recommended Route: Don't take the first branch to the left, it's a dead end. Other recommended trails in the same area: Anything near nashville, IN
