This trail does not exist anymore. Rose-Hulman built the apartment-style residence hall and parking lot where this trail used to go.

Summary:
A short trail, but with a lot of variety. There is one outer loop with many different smaller loops inside. No big hills, but a lot of tight singletrack. It's ridden a lot during the school year but quite a bit less during the summer.
One great thing about this trail is it's proximity to the new Old National Road Heritage Trail. This is a new rail trail from Rose Hulman to Indiana State through Terre Haute. It's flat, but a great ride. You can easily connect the two by going over the Rose Hulman bridge toward the gym and connecting to the Heritage trail directly behind the gym/fball field and track.

see above route.

Summary:
I developed 90% of this trail network with the help of other Pikes - the original intent was for a fundraiser race to benefit United Cerebral Palsy. Since we started the race (it's every year around the end of April - call 812.877.4661) it has grown to around 75 riders each race. The MTB community has started to help maintain the trails now too, mostly when we (the Pikes) are out of school for the summer. Not an extremely technical course, but good for developing skills, screwing around and catching some fat air.

Recommended Route:
Start at the end of the lower parking lot (Mees/Blumberg/Sharpenberg Halls) heading out on the black cinder road. The trail network starts out after the road enters the woods. There is no specific course to follow, pick and choose to explore the various whoops and jumps that have developed here. Total trail length 3.5 miles. The best areas are near the end of the cinder road (fun technical climbs and off-camber downhills) and around the creek crossing areas.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Fowler Park (South of Terre Haute on 41), Snow Hill (North of TH on 63 at Coal Creek), Linton, IN - South of Terre Haute about 45 minutes
