Plainfield Bike Park
A free public bike park built by a partnership between the Chicago Area Mountain Bikers - West Chapter (CAMBr West) and the Plainfield Township Park District (PTPD). CAMBr West raised funds and organized volunteers to build the park. The park consists of progressive table jumps, a pump track, and a skills area.
Summary: This is a BMX monstrosity why is it even on a mountain bike forum. I tried to make the best of it by making the largest of all the lines into a short epic up hill training course and I had a bunch of punk kids tell me I was going the wrong way and not to "Roll the Lip". I’m sorry but I don’t understand all this new jive talk these kids are throwing around today but I figured due to the fact that this place is called a bike park and not a BMX park I would be able to roll in on my SS 29er no problems. They should call cambr cambBr the extra b being for BMX of course. I didn’t join a BMX club. I joined a MOUNTAIN BIKE club. What kind of cycling community do we live in when a man gets kicked out of a so called BIKE PARK for representing some lycra and clipless.
Summary: A series of 4 dirt table jumps. Difficulty levels progress in four levels from 2 foot high beginner jumps to 7 foot high expert jumps.
A rhythm jump section with options to hip left or right. A step-up, saddle jump, jump into a spine, jump into a bank, and a tool shed container.
A pump track.
Progressive log spines.
A skills area with progressive log overs, rock drops, and skinnies. Expert skills area (not finished yet) will have a traffic barrier spine and a picnic table drop.
This park is built by volunteers. Most dirt jump builders do not ever tell anyone where their trails are ever! Please respect this park and help us take care of it.
