McCook Jumps

Mostly used by motorcross people but I go there often but haven't seen one yet. Big jumps and a nice race circuit. Some nice drops and gaps. There is more across the river(easy to get to). This is really just a big play area.

Trail Directions
Take 55 to Harlem ave, go north to 47th (about 1 mile) Take a left. Go about 1/2 mile to the bowling alley on the right(There really isn't much else). Park in the bowling alley and cross the street, there is a small drive by the bridge that will lead to train tracks. Cross the tracks and have fun.

Summary:
Cool place to go. I don't really mess around on the jumps, but I do the motocross style loop that runs around and through the play area. Agreat place to time yourself to see if your getting faster. Lots of small jumps and hazards make you use different lines to boost your technical skill. On a bad note the place is almost always swarming with bugs(Bring a can of OFF!) It also sucks after a rain. Great place to race friends!! P.S. Been across the river, its OK but not as mountian bike freindly(Area is set up for high speed motorcross)

Recommended Route:
I park in the bowling alley lot, never had any problems. One thing that might tun off some people is that there is constuction going on right now in the access area, once again I never had a problem with the workers while I ride through the construction site.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Salt Creek, Palos
