Weekend Warrior Summary: Just rode there today, again. If you live in the Quad Cities and have not ridden here, you are on crack. I ride a 38lb freeride rig and have been having a great time riding off little drops and hucking over some serious jumps. The trail system is very nice. Always a different way to go. The skill level is pretty good. Lots of BMX inspired riding. Cross country guys can make a circuit out of it and get their heart-rates up. Freeride guys can climb the rock hills and point it down. Kids can follow their parents on the main trails, and teens can always find a secluded spot to do whatever it is that teen's do. Classic trail fun. If you do ride there, make sure you pick up any trash you might find. (Makes it nicer for the next guy.) Props to the locals for keepin' it fresh. Recommended Route: Any. I prefer to start with the "whoop" section. Other recommended trails in the same area: FLOW, and street riding.

Cross Country Rider Summary: WOW! i just rode this trail again last night and was in awe of the improvements and clean up. new trails are happening all the time, but the acceleration of new trails was beyond my expectations.
jim and his crew of dedicated workers should applauded! they have made this trail system into an urban legend! it has all the ingredients of a classic system......close to all those living in the quad cities....over 4 miles of trails....beginner trails....technical trails....jumps...hills....hazzards....water on the trails...
CLASSIC! Recommended Route: you be the judge Other recommended trails in the same area: loud thunder forest preserve.

Downhiller Summary: If you have never been there i suggest you bring shin guards maybe even pants in the summer it grows over pretty quickly with thorns and sticker bushes. As for the terrain it keeps changing almost daily there are now 3 drops on the island sort of small but as far as i know they are the only drops in the area there are new dirt jumps in the middle of the island too. I love this place it has something for everyone from fast singletrack to dirt jumps to drops. And yes there are hidden dangers so also bring extra tubes you might get a flat not a gaurantee that you will though, there are some peices of metal, bricks, large peices of concrete. And thanks to the guys from East Moline for putting in new stuff this summer it keeps me going back,it seems every time i do i find something else that i havent before. If you do plan on riding there i dont suggest doing it alone,it's always safer to have someone there just incase you go too big and end up having to go to the hospital, like Jared when he went off the dock and didnt pull up he pile drove his head directly into the ground ,crushed hi full face helmet broke his nose and vertabrae and had to be taken out of there on a stretcher, luckily he had that helmet on if not he wouldnt be alive today.
So to finish this rant i will say ALWAYS RIDE WITHIN YOUR LIMITS AND WEAR A HELMET. Recommended Route: Ride the whole Island and look closely you will find some special stuff there Other recommended trails in the same area: secret pvt DH course in Bettendorf,IA.
ha ha ha I'll never tell or maybe i will just ask me

, from joy Summary: i've been riding this island (affectionately known as INJURY ISLAND, because everyone i know that has ridden this island has gotten hurt and gave blood) its amazing how new trails just seem to appear from week to week. there is some technical stuff that you need to be very alert with. the trails are pretty obvious after riding the park a few times. it is very scenic 12 months of the year. spring is good for mushroom hunting.....summer is good for nasty gnats and bugs....fall is great for the colors......winter is good for X-Country skiing and eagle observations..... check this park out and wash yourself off with the beer from the Bullpen (a great antiseptic) Recommended Route: park and leave from the Bullpen bar which is only 2 blocks from the bridge crossing to the island. the Bullpen has great food and dark beer on tap. they also have a great beer garden area with a fish pond. Other recommended trails in the same area: loud thunder forest reserve

, from Louisville Summary: A good use of a rare inner city wooded park. My hats off to the trail builders and city planners. The trail is mildly technical which is even less common in Illinois. A lot of singletrack has been build in a relatively small area. Not a problem as the area is heavily wooded. All in all, a good place for an easy workout. Because of the existing foundry concrete, a section for the dedicated trialsin' rider would be a great addition. Recommended Route: Any Direction
