, from LAKE VILLA Summary: This place has a lot of potential if the dnr would make the trails legal. Time to start lobbying to get something done about it. There is technically NO legal singletrack according to the signs. You have to stay on the old tractor roads. It is pretty challenging flying down the hill and the climb up is a fine workout the 3rd time up. I still dont know if it is legal to go up to the top of the hill and enjoy the view but I plan on finding out. Getting involved, connected and learning through BIKE CLUB OF LAKE COUNTY. (BCLC) check them out! Recommended Route: GO DOWN 1.5 miles, GO UP 1.5 miles, and FEEL THE BURN!!!!! AAAAHhHhhh,,,,, Other recommended trails in the same area: THE MOUNTAIN OF WEST MILTMORE! Kettle Moraine, Rock Cut (family camping with singletrack at your front door!)

, from ANITOCH, IL Summary: THIS PLACE SUCKS.....THE DNR PATROLS THIS PLACE WITH A FAIR AMOUNT OF REGULARITY. WHAT THE OTHER REVIEWS NEGLECT TO MENTION IS THAT IN REALITY THERE IS REALLY ONLY ABOUT 1.5 mi. IN LEGAL RIDEABLE TRAILS. tHE REST ARE ALL PRIVATE PROPERTY AND PIRATED TRAILS. THIS MEANS THAT IF THE DNR CATCHES YOU OUT ON THESE OTHER TRAILS (for lake of a better statement) YOUR ASS IS GRASS!!! I WAS RIDING OUT OF BOUNDS WITH A BUDDY OF MINE A WEEK OR SO AGO, AND THE DNR WAITED AT THE END OF THE TRAIL AND GAVE EACH OF US A $200 TICKET. WHILE THE RIDE WAS OK AT BEST, I WOUOLD MUCH RATHER SPEND THAT $200 ON GAS TO GET UP TO THE KETTLE MORAINE (a legal park in southeastern WIS.) SO, WHILE THE RIDING ON THE TRAILS, EVEN THE ILLEGAL ONES, IS OK AT BEST, I WOULD HIGHLY SUDGEST RIDING ELSE WHERE. Recommended Route: NONE, I'M NOT JUST BEING NEGATIVE, READ WHY BELOW!! Other recommended trails in the same area: TRUST ME THE KETTLE MORAINE IS A MUCH BETTER BET AND ONLY ABOUT A 30 min DRIVE FROM THIS PLACE. PLUS IT IS LEGAL TO RIDE THERE.

, from Lake Villa Summary: This is a good place to ride if your training for racing or trying to get in shape. Its a fun downhill run with a lot of washouts and loose gravel. You can get a lot of speed but watch out for fallen trees and huge rocks. The climb back up is killer that will make the climbs at Kettle seem short and easy. I go here when the trails are thawing out in Ill and Wis in the spring to get in shape cuz its always in good condition. I recommend it for people close by. (its only 4 miles with one short XC loop) Recommended Route: Follow the fireroads. Other recommended trails in the same area: Kettle,Deer Grove,Palos

, from Schaumburg, IL Summary: This place has crazy dh singletrack, but signs are posted that you should not be riding on anything but the fireroad. From the turn around you can either take the fireroad or find the singletrack out to the top. The singletrack will take you through a field and up a quick climb. Be careful it doesn't seem like anybody does any trail maintaince so weeds stick out on the trail and trees that fall won't be clear. I have found about 5 different trails down. There's a trail at the bottom that leads to Wilmont Ski Hill, great place to bomb down. Be careful it is private property. Wilmont is suppose to be a bike park but the better riding is on Gander. This place is just a big hill. The downhill is tough, its worth checking out, but there's only short xc loops. Other recommended trails in the same area: Kettle
