Summary:
Rode these trails on my way to yellowstone. THese trails a super phat, we got snowed on so brakes became an issue but I was totally stoaked. The trails are well made and really seem to flow, they are almost all singletrack which is rare these days. Bitchin!

Summary:
Summarizing the 100s of rides in the Wood River Valley in one review would be impossible. There's so much terrain in this area that you can spend years discovering it all. Generally, there's lots of climbing but you're rewarded with lots of singletrack and some awesome decents. Plus you hardly ever see another biker. It's not like gear-head central spots in Utah, Colorado, etc. A few tourist find there way onto trails found in guidebooks but are quickly discouraged by the rigors of climbing up, up, up. Remember Sun Valley is a ski area with 3,000 vertical! The region consists of a 25-mile long valley surrounded by mountains -- the Wood River Valley! It has all these canyons that head off both east and west. Forest access signs lead to well-kept dirt roads that lead to double tracks and single tracks galore. These are typically not "bike" routes but rather multi-use trails built by miners, hunters and horsemen over the years. So you'll find you ass draggin' if you're not in shape cuz the climbs and drops are frequent and steep. In fact, the climbs are tougher than you might imagine and sometimes require the old two feet on the ground technique. But you are rewarded with super duper single track decents in a most beautiful setting and clean, clean air. For the less aerobically inclined, Sun Valley Co. resort has lift access to the top of Baldy in the summer for around $20. Plus you can pedal up on the Warm Springs side assuming you have pistons for legs! There's a few ways to ride down and it's a hoot. It's too steep not to brake through. And, watch out for the slate rock sections. They can be cause for a nice aerial view of the surrounding mountains. The River Run decent has fewer trees near the trail and is pretty fast and furiuos. But the Warm Springs decent is more fun in my opinion. Overall, this is great mountain biking country for the in shape rider. If your not conditioned, you might be disappointed because the valley rides are mostly paved bike trails and other short stuff not specific to mountain bikers.

Summary:
The trials in the Ketchum/Sun Valley area are very good, really. Try somewhere else. It's not worth the long, inconvenient drive. Or, if you do come, just stay on the bike path with all the other tourists. Warm Springs Road makes for some nice bicycler road kill.

Summary:
I have ridden probably 60 or 70 of the 100 most popular trails. They are mostly terrific trails with lots of single track. A typical ride is up one box canyon, over a ridge and out the next canyon. 20 miles loop with 2500 feet of vertical. Lots of water crossing, wild flowers, views, technical, wide range of abilities. My longest ride was 52 miles with 6000 feet of vertical. Great place to ride!!!
