, from Post Falls Summary: The first few miles are a simple up hill road ride. Just before the road is gated, the road turns to dirt. This trail seems to get harder and harder as you reach the summit. At the top, the road is narrow and covered with rocks. It is a great feeling to reach to top. Recommended Route: Follow the directions above, but start at the park near the river. The total climb will be around 3400' in 12 miles. Follow the same path back. Other recommended trails in the same area: Beacon (in Spokane) and Canfield

, from Coeur d' Alene Summary: The problem is there is a lot of logging in the area that is taking away from some of the natural beauty. Recommended Route: Straight up the road like the description says. Once to the top, ride down the north face of the peak and it will connect to a little trail that goes out to Shasta Bute, if it hasn't been logged that is. That's worth it. You won't find a better view that close to CDA/Spokane though. Other recommended trails in the same area: Canfield
