Menan Butte (R Mountain)

steep, fast and loose. These trails are volcanic sand and loose basalt rock. Once you get going there is no stopping, you just finish it out or wreck. Some needs to be done on foot, it is just too rough. We road the southern lip of the butte on down. I am out of shape, so the climb up was a doozy.

Summary:
This trail sucks!... unless your really bored while attending summer classes at BYU-Idaho, then the trail is a must.Once you have ridden the trail you can tell all your friends about how stupid it was to push your bike up the hill, ride the edge, which is pretty cool and then rid the bike down through the sand. I would say, If your out of state, it is a must do just to say you have done it, then go ride some real trails at Kelly Canyon.

Recommended Route:
Good luck

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Kelley Canyon

Summary:
This trail is not a bike trail. I don't know who put this summary on this site, but it doesn't belong here. I tried riding the trail once, and that was enough for me. If you want to try it, let me know so I can come watch you try and push your bike up the side of a sand mountain for 45 minutes so you can ride around the rim which will only take you another 15 minutes.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Go to kelly canyon, or take the drive to pocatello for the mink creek trail system.
