The trail goes down for about 1/4 mile and then goes up, up, up into the treeline. Exit back down or hit ridgeline road and ride it over to 8th street extension
Summary: I just did this trail yesterday. It was fun. I went really fast on the way down.
Recommended Route: I don't like to go up a trail and come back down the same way. Sometimes you don't have a choice, but when I do I like to do a loop. So I go up corrals, then left on Scotts, then up 8th street to the ridgeline road where I go left, then cruise around to the top of hard guy. Hard guy is not very technical at all, it's about 5 miles of winding zooming downhill, that isn't too steep, but you'll be using your brakes plenty to check your speed on corners and stuff. It's mostly narrow hardpack single track, which I think most people would agree is the funnest. It's not all torn up from motorcycles like some trails in the boise foothills. The lighter your bike the better, because the climb is something like 2500 feet and there's no big hucks on the way down, just a few woopty jumps here and there. Hardguy eventually connects with corrals when your done, from there you just go back to bogus basin road or where ever you parked.
Other recommended trails in the same area: I recommend that you do all the trails and once you've done them all you should do them again and then you should ponder and ask God what you should do next and he will tell you to go forth and ride all the trails again. Then you should ask God again, what shall I do? I have ridden all the trails thrice and I'm afraid that more trail riding will bring on the dreaded boredom that is the reason I started MTBing, for I cycle away from the boredom dear God, what shall I do? Then God shall smite you and say, lie not to me my son, for there shall always be trails that you have not yet ridden and if you do not ride them you shall surely burn in the firey depths of hell where there shall be gnashing of teeth and brimstone and it'll be really bad. Then you'll be really scared and you will no longer cycle for fun, but out of fear that the lords wrath shall come down upon you. Amen.

Summary: Long grind up a three or four, or five or six? mile singletrack. A few steep sections, all rideable though. Once you reach the top, you could take a right on the road or head back down. If you choose the latter, prepare to attain unsafe speeds. Long, screaming descent, with constant great views of Boise and beyond. 35+ mph singletrack with some doubletrack mixed in. Not very technical, but once you exceed the limits of your control(and you will) traveling faster than you normally would on the road, you won't really care. Plenty of waterbars to add to the excitement. If you have discs, do not touch them for approximately thirty hours after you have completed the trail, as they will be roughly the temperature of the surface of the sun, which is around 13,000 degrees Fahrenheit. Enjoy!
Recommended Route: Ride up the Bogus Basin access road if youn are a real man(or woman). Take a right over the gate, then take a left onto Hardguy.

Summary: Begin at bogus basin road, corrals trialhead. When the corrals trail turns right, bear left, through the gate, on trail 33 (Hard Guy) Down and west, through the hairpin and through the streambed. up the loose and steep climb, through the second gate. More gentle climb (but always up!) to mile 3.75. Here, enjoy the very short, nearly impossible climb. You may experience burning lungs, and a 190-plus pulse rate. This is normal. Climb another 1.5 miles of technical, loose shale and sandy ruts to the weather station (affectionately referred to as the "lunar lander"). If you made it this far, you will live to see the top. It's another mile and a half, through trees with some steeps. You pop over the gate onto the ridge road. Left to Shingle creek or right to 8th street extension, or Devil's slide. Or, the most fun... Turn around and head right back down, mach 90 with your hair on fire to Bogus Basin road.
Other recommended trails in the same area: shingle creek, devil's slide, the corrals.

Summary: Long grinding climb up singletrack for about 9 miles I think (don't have computer on my mtb) up into the treeline.
Once there, you can go left on ridge road and take it around for a mile or so to Dry Creek and descend the fun singletrack back down. Or go right on ridge road and connect to corrals and Bobs or 4 to Hulls. Or, do this as an up and back: not technical but waaay fast descent (probably reaching 30-40 mph on some sections) when you let it go. Kind of reminds me a bit of San Juan Trail in SoCal (but San Juan is better)
Recommended Route: Ride up Bogus Basin Road to the parking lot on your right with an outhouse and start up on the switchbacks
Other recommended trails in the same area: 8th street to Kestrel, go left just before the freeway and climb the 3 steep climbs up to the ridge, take it across to a right hand swithcback which puts you on Sidewinder. Take sidewinder to the top then come down four. take four and cross the little bridge over to hulls, go right and up more swithcbacks and climb to the motorcyccle parking lot on 8th street. Directly across from there is the start of Bobs trail. On Bobs there's a little jump and fast left hander right before you have to go left on narrower singletrack to get to the creek singletrack on Bobs (this turn is easy to miss). Bobs is fun with a few short mildly technical sections.
