Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Waikele Summary: I just got done riding it today, and it was pretty tough, but the ride back was all worth it. I haven't rode in about 6 years and just bought a bike two days ago. I found myself very rusty and out of riding shape. The hardest part was all the eroded roots,it was hard to get a good line on the hills. The ride back was awesome and is very worth all the work it took to get there. There was a good mixture of steep downhills and rideable uphills, although we still walked a few. I think I will ride this again in a month or two just to see how much I improve. However, I don't see myself riding this all the time. The Mililani trails are closer and just as good although there are no long downhill sections.

, from Kailua HI Summary: I wouldnt recommend this trail for beginners unless your a well conditioned. There are some steep climbs. We found this trail in a mountain bike book and the pictures (from 1997) make it look great. It seems errosion has messed up some parts of the trail. I guess somewhere back there is some waterfalls. I think you have to walk to them though. One part of the trail has some steps or what used to be steps with a killer jump. FS is highly recommended here unless you have a hard a-s-s. It is definately worth riding but I would not put it on my favorites list.

, from Kailua, Hawaii Summary: This is a fun trail for those who enjoy technical riding and fast descents. As far as I am concerned this is a must ride just for the scenery. You must ride/walk to at least the 3 or 4 mile mark before turning around or you will miss a lot. Be prepared to carry your bike a little and do some short climbing up steep faces. On the way down, super fast sections await those who dare. Full suspension really helps here. We love this trail. Recommended Route: Same as everyone else. Other recommended trails in the same area: Mililani Trail

, from honolulu Summary: trail starts out on a old paved road then turns into a mix of singletrack and some wide sections. A ton of roots and some dismount sections. TRAIL HAS BECOME VERY ERODED THE LAST COUPLE YEARS, and not as sweet as a used to be. When zooming down before you get to paved section near the water tower, there is a nice launch off the roots spot for some big, long air. WATCH FOR PIG HUNTERS W/ DOGS!!! Recommended Route: Start at gate go to top, come back down to gate Other recommended trails in the same area: AIEA LOOP

, from Kaneohe Summary: The trail is in bad shape due to erosion. Through most of the beginning sections you will be riding on roots and never touch the ground. About 1 1/2 miles in is a section you will have to dismount and carry your bike up and down steps. After that its a fun trail. Total distance is 5.6 miles with great views. Warning! watch out for the pig hunters with their dogs! Recommended Route: Only one way in and one way out Other recommended trails in the same area: Waimanalo Ditch Trail and Demonstration Trail.
