Kuliouou Ridge Trail

Lots of roots and rocks, a few carrying and pushing sections and tight switchbacks. Ride up about 2 miles to the picnic shelter and bomb down the same way you came up or do a little exploring for some better DH action!

Summary:
Enjoy the workout getting up this trail (riding and hiking). Watch out for the the rocks and roots that seem to love to grab pedals, watch for the tight switchbacks (not a concern if you take the trail into haihahone valley), and steep sides to the trail. Look for the side trail to haihahone (think i'm spelling it wrong) when you get into the pine trees, it is by a challenging climb that sweeps to the right and the regular trail cuts back to the left. The Haihaone trail is that little climb right in-front of as you complete the climb. This is an AWESOME trail if you are looking for a technical challenge. RIDER BEWARE!!!!TAKE IT SLOW YOUR FIRST TIME SO YOU DON"T BIFF IT BAD WHERE THE TRAIL TURNS SUDDENLY!!!!

Summary:
Make sure you bring tubes and air because of the keawe bushes. Because of the climb, I wouldn't ride it with a dualie. Hardtail with skinny tires to save energy.

Recommended Route:
Start off in town and go along Kalanianiole to get a good warm up. It sucks climbing this when your not loosened up.

Summary:
this is a nice hike up, so if you got the stamina do mariner's ridge the next block down too. have fun at the jump/drop playground at the shack. when going down be aware of tight carving and no shame if you dismount a few times, better than falling off. Fun trail

Recommended Route:
being a singletrack, you go up and come down. heard about some nice terrain on the backside.

Summary:
the trail is littered with rocks, rocks, and even more rocks. Oh yeah, did I mention the roots? Man, this trail will improve your technical riding very fast. It's a good trail with tons of switchbacks and some dismount sections. Take a load off at the picnic area and suck down some power gel and mess around on the various jumps and then zoooooooooooooooooooooooooom down the downhill and remember where those switchbacks were. Watch for hikers

Recommended Route:
one way up, one way down

Other recommended trails in the same area:
St. louis heights
