Ridden Trail: Every few months

Weekend Warrior Summary: A trippy place to ride if you can handle a lot of MUD. This trail is a great argument for renting a bike instead of bringing one. You're going to need a serious hose-off if you make it to the top. Excellent views though... About as remote a place as you can get to without a helicopter... Lots of orchids, ferns and stuff like that. Trippy as I said. Recommended Route: I prefer the "back way"... even though it's SUPER MUDDY 20 minute climb and the recommended route is much drier. To get there, go to the top of Puuwai Road in Kalaheo, look for a little "Government Property" dirt road and start riding (there's no gate, but don't drive down it). You'll want to go right when you reach the main road. Watch out for pig hunters and horse back riders (who are cool if you get off your bike and give them right of way). My ratings apply to this route. I'm not into the other way. Other recommended trails in the same area: Kalepa Ridge
