Mabel White Church

Fast pace technical singletrack. Beautiful creekside riding, and overall pretty landscape. A few small hills to climb and descend. P.O.W.E.R. created this trail by request of administration of church. Ride it and enjoy, and be respectful to the church upon whose land we ride.

Trail Directions
Highly convenient for most people in Middle Georgia due to the proximity to the interstate. Take I-75 North from Macon to the Bass Road interchange. Take a left at end of ramp. Follow Bass Road in a western direction. Church is located on the left only one-half a mile from the interstate. Scrolling marquee sign at driveway. Go down driveway toward church, and look to park immediately on the right. Trailhead begins there. Follow signs.

Summary:
Trail has been reworked with several rerouts that are challenging and fun. Fast run and good down hill sections. only two damp areas even right after rain so mud realy not a factor.trail was well maintained and would recomend to anyone. very close to macon for a quick fun workout, no excuse. enjoy!

Recommended Route:
stay right at top of hill and along creek. only veer left when at bottom and when crossing over new bridge. on the way out veer right at bench an righr again in front of baracade jump then right again at top of hill to go back to parking lot.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Cedar ridge at Dayspring presbyterian church in Forsyth.

Summary:
An update - Do not make plans to ride this trail; it has not been maintained (as of Jan 14, 2006) in over two years and there is no foreseeable plans in the future.

Basically, all local maintenance efforts have been redirected to other trails. We're focusing on building a small number of good trails instead on a large number of poor trails.

The trail is suffering badly from neglect. I spent most of the time trying to find it. In the areas where the trail was evident it eas a lot of fun but mostly just frustrating.

Summary:
Give me a break. This could have been a really fun singletrack trial, but it is overgrown and basically dead ends. If I had known it was so near me, I would have been glad to volunteer to help maintain it. As it is, I would say it is definitely not worth the trip.

Tick infested, FYI -- my girlfriend had no less than 10 ticks on her after this trail -- even one in her mouth.

Summary:
After a marathon five-hour work party at Mable White Church, the trail is again ridable. Four dedicated outdoor enthusiasts toiled in the humidity to bring a favorite bike trail back to life. The trail is cleared of fallen trees, vines, and briars. It is a nice trail that's ready to ride!

Recommended Route:
Start on the righthand side, just behind the large rock, or enter the trail from the parking lot behind the church.
