Hard Labor Creek

Average Rating:    (4 of 5)

There are (4) loop trails, mostly hand built so a little rough and nasty with minimal grooming! The Orange trail is Beginner rated and 1-mile long. The Purple trail is a Beginner level connector trail, 0.5-miles e/w. The Blue trail is Beginner/Intermediate rated with 4-miles open (out-n-back) but 5.5-miles flagged to build in 2013. This trail is designed for speed and, eventually, long endurance riding. The Red trail is Intermediate/Advance rated with 3.5-miles open and another 1.5 to open Spring 2013. The Red trail has lots of everything..short and long climbs, tight, twisty, rooty along with open flowy sections. There are plans to add another 5-miles of Advance trails in 2014 bringing the total to over 22-miles!

There are currently 9-miles of open trails, mostly hand built so can be rough and nasty in places, with plans to eventually have 22-miles! The Orange trail is a good warmup as you reach the Purple connector trail in .5-miles. This takes you another .5-miles to the Red or Blue trailhead where you can ride either separate loop. The Blue is 2-mile out, 2-miles back for now with 5.5 more miles to be built. The Red trail, 3.5 now but soon to be 5-miles, can really challenge riders with lots of everything...roots, tight, twisty, short and long climbs, all that flows very nicely. Unfortunately, the GA State Parks now charge a user fee of $2 plus a vehicle pass of $5. The bike fee can be waived by giving back 25 volunteer hours each year and they really need the help!

Recommended Route:
Take the Orange trail to the Purple connector then to the Blue/Red trail intersection. First, take the really fast Blue trail out-n-back then hammer the Red trail as many loops as your legs will handle. These trails are designed as multi-directional, depending on the day of week...except for the Blue for now and the Purple. Enjoy!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Heritage, Dauset Nature Center, International Horse Park, Ft. Yargo State Park.
