Cedar Ridge Bike trail At Dayspring

Average Rating:    (4 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

New trail completed May 5th 2010. Over 2 miles of closed loop trail running through three sections of property. Good trail even in wet conditions, goes through well spaced sweet gum maize, hardwood creek bottom with excellent bridge crossing up to cedar ridge with good drop offs and air time if so desired. Last half mile is in front with nice terraces mixed in to enhance section. Challenging but not too much so, makes good use of available property and now property is available to you.

Summary:
Wow! what a difference a year makes. trail extensions plus paved loop makes 2.66 a 3.05 mile challenge. with a top speed of 25.4 and a average speed of 9.5 makes a sub 20 minute run fast and fun. Beat that! Plus three opportunities for air time either direction. 90% double track gives room to pass so it would be a great place for a race.

Recommended Route:
Like both directions but counter clockwise seems to be a favorite with several riders.

Is the next best thing to Dauset.

Summary:
It is a very freshly cut trail, needs lots of help. It is just plain jane with a couple of jumps, and a bridge. Needs log crossings, a few rock gardens, and 20 people to ride it everyday for a month to get a trail cut thru the grass, and to harden up the dirt underneath. It has potential, but it needs some help from dedicated riders from the area.

Recommended Route:
clockwise first to learn the trail

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Dausets, or the childrens home

one more thing, there are 2 entrences to the property, one is on 41 going south before you get to thornton rd, If you miss that one then take the right on to thornton rd. Then take the first right, across the street from the school. Once on the property, follow the drive and bare to the left until you get to the parking lot, it will be on your right. Trail entrence on your left, right across from the parking lot.
