Ridden Trail: Once a month

Weekend Warrior Summary: There are four primary loops that you can ride along with the four miles of asphalt trail which are great for a warm up or cool down ride. Working from left to right if you look at the map, MB1 is the smallest section and is best suited for beginner and intermediate riders. It is a little under a mile. Most all of it was hand built by myself and SORBA GATR.
MB2 (A & B) make a figure eight and are accessed by the MB gate near the main entrance gate to the left hand side away from the restrooms. You cross the asphalt trail, and then you can work in either direction on 2A. At the back end is an old roadbed that you will need to take a left on and cross the eq trail. The trail forks and you are now on 2B. This is about 1.5 miles in total length. This is a good intermediate trails with a lot of pedaling and tight technical ride.
MB3 is a 3 mile loop that reaches all the way down to the power easement at the back of the property. This is similar to the MB2 trail in that there is not a lot of elevation change, but it is a tight flowing singletrack that keeps you on your toes.
The final section is MB4 which is 3 1/2 miles in the back of the property above the big rock. This trail has much more speed and flow compared to the rest of the park. There are banked flowing turns with several rock outcroppings. The trail is accessed by crossing the power easement, then following the asphalt trail down to the bottom of the hill where you will find a metal gate, and a rock drop to your right. You will need a little speed to hop it as it is a drop, and not a roller. There are two downhill lines on the back of the loop that are extremely fast and have very large banks and jumps. You can also ride down the rock face by following alongside the chainlink fence working from right to left.
There is a future MB5 project that has been designed, and will be built in the near future. We are hoping to get roughly 6 miles out of that section once it is completed. Recommended Route: MB1 is fairly simple and good for beginners.
MB2 (A & B) are intermediate and short, but technical.
MB3 is for intermediate riders and is very aerobic.
MB4 is more advanced with higher speed and flow. Large banked turns and jumps with long climbs and freeride lines.
The 4 mile asphalt loop is available to bikes as a rainy day alternative or for cool down ride. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tribble Mill, Chicopee and Ft. Yargo.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Unlike the other reviews I liked the way the first sections flow with the few subtle changes they made. Not everyone prefers all out race pace down a slightly curvy straight trail. It was a refreshing change of pace in my opinion and by mid summer once it smooths out some it will be much faster. This trail will teach riders some good bike handling/maneuvering skills with its many turns and dips.
If your looking for something faster you'll just have to wait until they finish the other loops they are working on. They say these will have the open free flow similar to other area trails. Great for the racers and good exercise for those of us that prefer something a little more technical. Once complete this park I believe will offer something for all riders. Well maybe not free-ride but one never knows.
Low aerobic rating right now as there is not much elevation change but that is supposed to be coming as well. Recommended Route: I just followed the trail investigating the different routes when I got to intersections so I can not recommend a route. Other recommended trails in the same area: Fort Yargo is about 15 minutes away. If you like dips and turns check out the new Monster Mile. I did Harbins and Yargo for the first time today. I would recommend both but Harbins is still under construction so be patient. I still had a great time though.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I appreciate all the work done, and imagine that carving trail through the thick pine forest must have been a challenge. If you like bumpy tight twisty manuvering with little elevation, this trail has its moments. The trail currently flows only in small sections. My 13 yr old daughter was better suited to this trail than other more aerobically challenging ones, but even she got bored and so did I (on a SS rigid 29er). I hope there will be an eventual concensus to re-configure and create more flow, there is plenty of potential and land to do it on. This has the potential to be a good family-oriented biking destination. My next trip here will be to help out if and when trail building occurs. Recommended Route: Just follow the loops. The scenery doesn't change much. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tribble Mill, Yellow River

Cross Country Rider Summary: Its a beautiful park but the trails needs major rethinking and reworking! I was not impressed at all. I left there really annoyed. I understand that the trails are new and its gonna take some time for them to smooth out but it seems like a drunk person just walked through the woods and cut the trail. Too many tight, low speed turns. I never got up to speed. No flow to speak of. No climbs or descents. Its just slow slow slow. Can't even compare it to anything bc all the other parks I've been to (yellow river, fort yargo, tribble, chickopee, horse park and FATS) were all WAY better than this. I hope the other trails that aren't open yet are better than this first offering or else I don't think I'll ever go back to Harbins Park.
