Suwanee Creek Greenway

It’s time to run...walk...pedal...stroll...and roll! The Suwanee Creek Greenway is a hard-surface, multipurpose trail that meanders through four miles of wooded areas, wetlands, and wildlife habitat. The original trail was constructed in the early 1990s; a three-mile extension was opened in May 2004. The greenway connects nearly 400 acres of parkland as well as residential and commercial areas.
Walkers, joggers, bikers, rollerbladers, and others can access the trail at a variety of locations. The trailhead is located at Suwanee Creek Park, 1170 Buford Highway. Other access points are:
Near the Suwanee Sports Academy at 3640 Burnette Road.
Martin Farm Park, about a half-mile west of Satellite Boulevard.
Suwanee Elementary School, on weekends and after 4 p.m. during the week only.
George Pierce Park, near the soccer and back softball fields.
Summary: While the trail is scenic and well maintained, it has a lot of different types of users not overly compatible with bike riders. You will find lots of mothers with strollers, high school runners hogging the road, peopole on the wrong side not paying attention, etc. It is also not very difficult . However, for beginners who just want to coast along, it is a very good trail.

Summary: This trail is fantastic. It is a mixture of paved trails and elevated wooden platforms. Think of it as a pier with no end. :) That had to elevate the trail with the wood which actually is more like a long bridge than a pier because of the flooding from the Suwanee Creek. This way it doesn't destroy the trail. Near the end of the trail where you go from Suwanee Elementary to George Piece Park it is not paved. I've taken this route once and really enjoyed the riding through the woods.
Recommended Route: Start at Suwanee Creek Park and ride until you are tired. :)
