Big Creek Park

A 1.25 mile beginners' singletrack trail. Very well designed and maintained (by the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association--SORBA--and the City of Roswell), if not all that challenging. Scenic, winds through hardwood and pine forests.
Over the last 1-2 years, our trails at Big Creek have expanded to over 4.5 miles of beginner, intermediate, and advance trails.
Summary: This is the same as the Wooten Road trails and the Mansell Road trails. Big Creek Park seems to be the official name of the trails. The trails still exist and are very well maintained. See rambo-mtb.org for more details.
The trails come in 4 levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and paved. Some of the trails are multi-use, shared with hikers. I enjoyed my ride around the trails. There's enough climb to make it a good workout. While I'm sure they are not the most challenging trails in N. GA, they are good. There's 5 miles or more of trails, well marked, numbered, etc. There's a few expert features, bridges, etc. There are signs directing traffic in one direction or the other depending on the day of the week.
The trails close for 24 hours after heavy rain. It seems a little ridiculous. Someone stopped me and informed me the trails were closed (a big red sign is posted at the entrance). The closure seemed focused on the 1.3 mile beginner loop at the south side of the park. The gentleman that stopped me suggested starting at the north parking lot and riding the intermediate and advanced trails the day after it rains. rambo-mtb.org posts closures.
Recommended Route: The trail direction changes with the day of the week; roughly clockwise mon, wed, fri, sun and counterclockwise tue, thurs, sat.

Summary: Nicely maintained trail and great if you're a local. However, I wouldn't drive too far to ride there. It's not really long enough, and the hardest stuff was intermediate at best. There were some definite fun area's, but they lasted second's. If I lived there I would be there often; if not , i'd drive somewhere that has more distance to ride.
Other recommended trails in the same area: For a little drive Chickopee or Blankets Creek.

Summary: The trails are really fast and in excellent condition. You can tell that SORBA regularly maintains the park. First time riding the trails was on a rigid SS and I didn't find it very challenging at all, but really fun nonetheless. Trails are marked beginner, intermediate, and advanced...but nothing is too technical. The advanced trails have features to add some excitement.
Recommended Route: There are only about 4.25 miles of total trails, and most go in loops, so ride everything for a good variety.

Summary: I thought this trail was both too short and not technical enough. The easy sections fulfilled their title, but the intermediate sections seemed to be easy sections with loose gravel sprinkled over them. I was not really impressed with the advanced sections, although they did have some fun downhills and log crossings, as well as some good bridges and whatnot. I didn't have the time to check out the freeride area, so I can't comment on that.
Recommended Route: I just followed the signs and rode the advanced trails twice, you will need to ride them several times to get a good workout.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Blankets: A little longer and more technical, similar structure and sorba quality.
Chicopee: Significantly longer and much more technical. Again, similar structure and sorba quality.

Summary: Big creek varies from begginer to advanced as you go along you pretty much make up your own trail because it has forks in the road that will say most difficult to easy the only bad thing about that is that it makes it easy to get lost in my opinion it a reely good trail to get a good warm up or exersice on.
Recommended Route: follow the sings of the day of the week and your exparince level.
Other recommended trails in the same area: blankets creek
