Weekend Warrior Summary: first off the trail varies in length depending on which route you take. the most common bike trail is actually 4.5 miles and is outlaid in orange on the park map. there is an option for another 3 miles that goes out then loops and comes back to the main trail. the trail is typical georgia red dirt and rocky. in fact there are a lot of loose rocks which makes for slipping climbs at times and risky downhills. this trail is hard to rate because even though it isn't very technical, it is a true workout and very fun in sections (would be much better without the loose rock). nice scenes at times if you take the whole trail. several rough climbs and some fun downhills. Recommended Route: ride the orange route on the park map if you are in a hurry, include the purple loop if you have time (for total of a little over 7 miles) Other recommended trails in the same area: isaqueena near clemson, sc

Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

, from Athens, GA Summary: Most of this trail is currently CLOSED. Apparently, they're working on the nearby golf course (groan). Anyway, like the previous review said, this is a nice place for a beginner (which I am). It's actually more difficult than it seems, in some respects. The hills don't seem very technical, yet the topsoil (if you want to call it that) is so thin and dry and there's so many good sized rocks, they can be more difficult than they look with all the sliding. I'd agree that you probably will be disappointed if you travel too far to get here, but once they open it back up it's worth an occasional drive in from Athens, just for something different I suppose. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hertitage Park
