Weekend Warrior Summary: Update/info from a local: The parking lot and road that used to be open to the western edge of the trail is now closed due to the people using the traffic circle back there as the place for hookups. The gay guys wandering the woods are gone, the only people you will encounter there now are the local disc golf guys. Watch for flying discs, if you're moving at speed there's no way they can see you when they throw because of all the blind spots.
This closure doesn't affect the trail at all other than getting rid of a source of litter and you can no longer drive your vehicle to the parking lot on the western edge. Have a safe ride!

Cross Country Rider Summary: I ride these trails when I'm visiting my parents in Hilton Head over Christmas. It's only about 1/2 hour from the HH/Bluffton area. The trails are flat, twisty, quite rooty in places, and quite wet in other places. They are not technically challenging for a New Englaner like me, but they are fun. They'll give you a good aerobic workout, and they'll let you practice linking turns together, an important skill to master, and a difficult one to practice on the rock-and-root infested trails up north. You can get going pretty fast, and swoop the turns. I didn't see any of the big spiders but I did see a lot of guys wandering around in the woods. Hiney-lancers, I think, looking for a hookup. They didn't bother us, and we didn't catch any in the act. If you're visiting the Savannah/Hilton Head area bring your bike and try this place. Recommended Route: Who the hell knows? There are so many trails, unmarked, and pretty much all the same. Just explore, and stay out of the mud (the trail by the parking lot when I was there). Some of the bridges are in tough shape, so ride them at your own risk.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I have rode this trail nearly ten times now and the first five or so times it has been nice. Some technical parts, fast sections, and some wood bridge crossings.
However, it is not very well marked yet and I stopped riding it about one month ago. Some kids have went through and destroyed the wooden bridge and put signs in different areas to throw bikers off the actual trail.
Probably one of the best trails around the Lowcountry area that I have ridden so far. I honestly wish there were more trails around this area. Recommended Route: Only one route to choose from, but reverse your route every now and then and it will look and feel different from time to time, it is a good switchup. Enjoy the old Ogeechee-Savannah River Canal Other recommended trails in the same area: Skidaway Island, Tribble Mill Park

Weekend Warrior Summary: I went after it rained a few times in the days prior and there was a huge section of the trail under water and unrideable. Since it seemed as if there had been no other riders in the last few days, there were huge spider webs all along the trial with huge Banana Spiders in them. After going through the third web, I turned around and went back because nothing freaks me out more than a spider the size of my fist. I ended up riding a total of 4 miles, so at least i got a little riding out of it. I will definately go back, but it will be when I know other riders have been out there too. Recommended Route: I took the route that everyone else recommmended, which was the entrance by the tracks where I drove in. I came across the swamped out trail shortly after. I then went on the oposite side of the lake from the parking lot and found some trails back that way.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This is the best trail you will find in the low country. Twisting and winding for 6.5 miles through the back forty of Tom Tripplet Park. This is actual mileage recorded on my GPS. No climbing, just fast and flowing trails with a couple of log crossings and a stunt bridge thrown in towards the end. There is even a little bit of history to learn about along the way. Recommended Route: Park in the first parking lot on the left, across from the pavillion. Ride counterclockwise onto the paved jogging path for 100 yards. Ride into narrow clearing before the first turn of the joggong path. The trail begins another 100 yards on the right. Just follow it to the end. There is also a shorter route just after the last lock wall, if you want to avoid the stunt bridge. Other recommended trails in the same area: The only other trail that I know of is on Skidaway island near the University of Georgia Oceanographic research facility.
