3 mile singletrack, mostly technical, some short climbs. Very good trail, only problem is how short it is.
I 75 to Valdosta, Exit and go south. Right at first Redlight, (Country Club RD). Right and next redlight onto Gordon St, Go throught next redlight and look on Right for White Oak drive. Directly across street from White Oak is trailhead.
Summary: St. J's Update: as of January/06 St. J's have been Renovated with ov er 16 Stunts: Skinnies, Tetter-Totters, Ladder-Bridges, Ramps, Jumps, etc., The Lumber was Donated by a local Builder/Rider & i used it to build all the Trail-Friendly stunts due the city attempting to purchase the land for a Natural Bike/Hike Park. The idea was...if, it's there they might leave all or at least, some of the structures. The stunts are all off of the trail to be ridden as an option for Advanced riders. The Main-Trail is Only 1.?mls around & is marked by Green Arrows & Dots. Even with the Summer-Swelter the Popularity is Rising. If, U R traveling I-75 it's Definitely, worth the Stop for a Ride!!!!
Recommended Route: See the other reviews for Directions.
Other recommended trails in the same area: For some Moderate XC Fun: The Trails in White Springs,FL & The San-Falesco Trail near High Springs,FL For Extreme, Aggressive Trail-Riding go to RazorBack Trail & Santos Trail in Ocala,FL!!!!

Summary: I gotta feel for you cycling brothers in Valdosta! I travel all over the SE USA and always take my bike. I stopped at the St. Johns trails based on your enthusiastic reports. Maybe this is only a summer course. But the course is an abondoned lot about one city block long and wide. The trails looked like they were cleared by the 7 dwarfs! I had to duck my head between my handle bars about 30% of the trail! But you did try to make the best of lack of elevation change and add some jumps and balance elements, etc. Most of them looked rickety so I only tried a few. The land has potential but you need to widen the trails to make them enjoyable. But I gotta gave you an A for effort.
Recommended Route: If this is all you got, ride the whole place. I only measured about 1.4 miles of trails and I think I got them all. If you live in Valdosta, enjoy these during the week. If you got the time, drive to Tallahassee and go to Tom Brown park for some true riding pleasure.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Tom Brown in Tallahassee
Any of the North Ga trails

Summary: lots of slope. mostly pinestraw trails. fair number of technical elements set up. Even a very new beginner could get through this yet an intermediate or advanced rider could have a little fun on a few of the jumps and stuff. There are a couple different trails you can take, so you can change it up and get a decently long run. One of my friends and my brother and I went out this morning and rode the trails and then this afternoon we started to clean up some of the overgrown stuff. Tomorrow we're going back to finish clearing out a lotta stuff as well as fix up some of the broken down elements and maybe over the next week or two add a few things too.
Recommended Route: Go to the trailhead, where white oak dead ends onto gornto. Its not super noticable. you can park at st. johns just make sure if its during the day to park in the back or something. THeres also some way to start the trails at st. johns rather than at the trail head, but we havn't figured that out yet. If you have any questions email me jpeaslee@bellsouth.net

Summary: The St. Johns trails are sweet, friendly for all types of bikers that don't mind pedalling. The trails are loaded with goodies to help hone your skills-jumping, balance, climbing, drops, and speed- new trails are under works with things tying in togeather nicely. Some thing new added to the trails every month. The trials currently are about 3 miles in total length, but you have several loops and cuts to change things up. Any level can ride and all levels can enjoy the trails. Great local trails to train on. I give the rating a five due to the divesity and evolution of these trails.
Recommended Route: park in the cul d sack of south fourty off jerry jones
Other recommended trails in the same area: none unless you ride crete'

Summary: St Johns is a beautifully, Wooded-Area in Northern, Valdosta AND has had a LOT of Cool, Things ADDED to the trail such as, new, trails being cut, a LOT of trail-friendly, man-made, TRICKS have been installed: Jumps, Drops, A-Frames, Gap-Bridegs, Ladder-Bridges, Skinnies, etc., ALL can be By-Passed on the trail by beginners & intermmediates...a local, resident of the adjacent, neighborhood has all-but, Secured the trail being bought by the city(parks & recreation) & legally, opened to the public...it will be deemed a "Passive Park"...meaning no major, construction to keep the Natural-Setting & Single-Track type of bike-riding intact...THIS is being done due to ALL the the Work that has been done in the Trail! the trail is separated by a culdasac & both sides are easily recognizeable for entry from that area...because of the small, creek going through St Johns there is a fair, amount of climbing on all the different, Loops making for a good, aerobic-workout while having a Blast on All the Fun>Tricks! The 'Word' is getting Out about St Johns & a Lot of new, Riders are being seen in there each Week! It's definitely, Worth the Ride if, u r able! Have Fun! "St J's TrailRaiders!"
Recommended Route: actually, the next exit south of the one being described in the previous review is best...the exit for VSU & the Colonial Mall...take that exit & go left on St Augustine Rd...at the 1st light take the left on Gornto Rd to the YMCA & i would park there until, the propsed, parking lot is built for St Johns...just, park away from the main-entrance to the Y as a Courtesy & just, ride up Gornto to the White Oak rd entrance described in the previous, review...white oak rd faces the trail-entrance where white oak comes into gornto rd!
Other recommended trails in the same area: the ONLY other near-by Single-Track trails are White Springs, FL the Stephen Foster Memorial...see Suwanee Bike Association's web-site to check it out...the Best, Rides would be San Falesco & Santo Trail!
