Cross Country Rider Summary: While your in the area hang a left into the skidaway state park. They have plenty of trails and almost all of them loop, nothing terribly technical but the scenery is top notch as most of it runs along the marsh. Bridges everywhere but its hard to get any air off them. There is a tower half way through the main trail that you can climb up and overlook the river (have a sip of water and hit it again. Sandpiper trail (look at the map at the office) says no bikes but its still my favorite to ride and nobody has stopped me. Nobody rides these trails on weekday afternoons so I go every day since its close. Parking is 3 dollars (where do my taxes go?) but I bought a yearly pass for $30. If you see a guy on a blue and silver Giant then stop and say hi! Recommended Route: Waters ave south, turns into whitfield, turns into diamond causway (spur 204, too many F****** names for this road!!!!). Anyway just go to skidaway island you cant miss the big sign pointing left and just drive in. Once you pass the office the road will wind to a stop sign. You can see a building with a pool on its left side. On the right side of this building is a trail head that says "no bikes" but its the most enjoyable to me so to hell with the sign.
Also once you hit that same stop sign if you turn right and follow it past the picknick area and a 90 degree right you will see a big trail head with gate on the left. This is the entrance we're supposed to use. Take the first left on this trail and follow it past the boyscout camping areas and another gate and you will end up on avion loop and also sandpiper trail (remember everything loops). If you just go straight instead you will end up at the tower and go on to two more looping trails. Other recommended trails in the same area: Feel like breaking the law? Ride out of the park and down the street to the Landings and make use of all the golf cart paths. The golf courses beside the paths have awesome hills and transitions to get air on. Dont stay in one spot long, Landings folks love to b**** and you will make their day if they get a chance to call security on you!

Cross Country Rider Summary: So, I was reading my review on this trail and was wondering why I sounded so much like an elitist. Sounded pretty crappy. Ha ha. Anyway, I rode this trail again because I heard that triplett was flooded. I actually was a little adventurous and found more of the trail and actually had a good time. Still not technical by any means but it was good for a spin session after a 15 month layoff. Still more unexplored territory out there.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Okay, I've ridden 4 different trails since i've gotten here from Colorado by way of Korea. This was an easy and okay trail. I have also rode Tripplet and tried Gwinnett in the Savannah area, of the three Tripplet was the funnest. I am wondering about all the ratings i'm seeing from you guys. I'm not the greatest rider and none of these rides would even come close to intermediate skills in Colorado. I know Skidaway is rated beginner and it was what I expected. Still a decent ride just to get out of the house. Since I live in Hinesville, the best place for me to go without driving up north is Tripplet. Good place to take the kid to teach him some moves over the logs and such. Like one review said though. I rode until I came to the hardball and rode around there looking for the rest of the trail, gave up and went back. GPS told me it was about 3.8 miles out and back. Lots of ferns blocking the view of the trail was about the most challenging part of the ride. Recommended Route: Like they said drive out to the aquarium and park right in front of it. Trailhead is almost straight out to the left. You can see the fire road. Trail is marked with small arrows and orange tape on trees (faded)

Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail is very flat and quite boring after the fifth time. For some added thrill, ride the trail backwards. Recommended Route: Go down Waters Ave and keep going until you reach The Landing residential community. Make a left on Mchorter Road just before you reach The Landings gate. Go down about 5 miles until the road forks. Fork left and go until it ends. This is Priest Landings and teh trail head is on the left. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tom Tripplet
