Cross Country Rider Summary: I like this trail a lot. I rode it for the second time last fall. The trail is definitely easy when it comes to technical difficulty, but it is not flat. It has some long inclines of double-track that will prove how out of shape you really are. I took two friends there who never ride on dirt and neither one of them crashed or got injured. There were a few scary minutes for them on some of the downhill parts, though.
I think the trail is a little too tough for kids (unless they are teenagers) but easy enough for new riders in general. It is a very scenic trail with some single-track and some double-track and you cross a few meadows that are very picturesque. The first downhill section is quite twisty and takes you down with small trees and bushes close in on either side. There is a large wash out you traverse that has several large loose rocks in it so total beginners will want to exercise some caution. Overall I like it alot and Elijay is a nice place to ride.

Weekend Warrior Summary: From a beginners point of view - this a great trail to learn single track and rutty downhills which you will find in the first half of the trail. The last half is much easier- mostly up hill on an old road bed. Other recommended trails in the same area: The Long Branch trail in Blue Ridge is also a wonderful beginners trail.

, from GA Summary: A super-easy and relaxing loop perfect for new riders or children to get them hooked. Just enough "dirt" feeling to make it a mountain biking trail. Just follow the prominent red and white blazes once you start down the trail, being sure not to pass the first turn to the right (if going clockwise). If you pass that first turn, you'll soon realize it because you'll start a rutty, rocky climb which is the beginning of the River Loop. Recommended Route: Clockwise from the parking area.
