Cross Country Rider Summary: If you are an "advanced" beginner, like me, this is a great trail to hone your skills on. Take it slow on your first trip, the technical sections have a way of sneaking up on you. This trail is heavy with roots and will pound on your rear end. The technical challenge will double if the roots are wet, lots of side hill lies and areas where your front tire can washout. Lots of varied terrain, no real tough elevation changes. One note, if you are riding in the summer, and the first one thru the trail, it is thick with orb spiders and their webs. You'll feel like you were in an Indiana Jones movie when you are done. Apparently they don't bite, because i was covered with webs when I was done. One caution: You have to ride on a busy road and across a narrow bridge to get back to your vehicle. Stay alert! Recommended Route: Beginners should ride counter clockwise. Other recommended trails in the same area: FATS is nearby and an IMBA Epic. Modoc is a great trail to put you back in your place when you start feeling like you've moved up to sport class.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a nice trail that is close to Augusta, GA. From what I can tell this trail is not well ridden. Luckily there was paint on the trees along the way so that you could find the trail in spots. There are several creek crossings and some sections where you have to carry your bike across, but all in all it was a nice trail. Made me think of just riding through the woods really. The ride back to the parking area across the Keg Creek bridge was a hairy one, Washington Road is one of the busiest roads in Augusta and outside of there. Luckily we caught a break in traffic. I ride trails for a reason, cars scare me. Recommended Route: We rode counter clockwise, but many of the creek crossings would have been much easier clockwise.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I could not find the trail. I parked in the parking lot on the left side of the road and could only find a hiking trail. I rode that trail but it was very undefined once I rode for about 10 minutes.

, from Lake Worth , Florida Summary: Very easy trail that has lots to offer to the casual rider that would like to see some wilderness. Difficulty is about 3 out of 10 only because there is a few creek crossings that will test some skills. for the most part it is just a nice enjoyable ride. spits you out on the road for a short climb on Washinton street. Some climbing but not much at all. A few nice sections that offer up a few 25-30 mph runs. Recommended Route: Follow the Hiking trail to the right of the parking lot and do it counter clockwise.

, from Augusta Summary: This is a good challenging trail not far from town. The 8 miles is a great workout since the terrain is challenging. There are some slow steady climbs (for the augusta area anyway) and tight technical sections. As previously reviewed there are some creek crossings that need to be handled with care as well as many dips. The trail offers some beautiful sights all along the way. It is fully marked with blazes, but it is still possible to miss a quick redirection on the section that hasn't been blowen yet. There is one or two places where there is a fork in the trail and both paths are blazed...you can go either direction you wind up the same place before long. Thanks to SORBA CSRA (esp. Dale and Charles) for all of the work that has been done to resurect this great resource. I predict the condition and usage to continute to increase in the future. Thanks also the COE for letting SORBA mantain and improve this trail. Recommended Route: either direction, I have always started after you cross the Keg Creek bridge coming from Augusta Other recommended trails in the same area: Mistle Toe State Park
