Weekend Warrior Summary: Just curious (and a little off-topic) but does anyone have any online reference material on the history of the Estelle Iron Ore Mines?
I would greatly appreciate any help on the history of the area. I can be contacted at cblee1978@bellsouth.net
Thank you

Cross Country Rider Summary: trail rode August 21,2004 this trail is in terrible condition. There are many trees down on the trail and the wonderful horse riders have cut new parts of the trails instead of walking over the trees. So it is bad. E-mail me with any questions or if you need directions I am a local guy.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I know this is completely off-topic so please forgive me. This is the only site on the net that I can find that has anything to do with the Estelle Iron Ore Mines.
I am in the process of working on my family tree and I know that my great-grandparents and grandparents (great aunts and uncles included) all worked at the iron ore mines when they were in operation back in the late 1800's - early 1900's. In fact, my great grand parents are buried in the location where the miners children's school once stood & my dad was born in the town that sprang up aroung the mines.
The families that lived and worked there were the Lee and Nalley families. As far as I know some of the Lee's still live in the area (Irene Russell?). I was wondering if anyone that knows this area well, could help me locate any good material on its history.
I apologize for the off-topic post, but any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me at Br_Dalamar_Br@yahoo.com
Thanks again.

, from Kenisington Summary: I rode this trail yesterday on horseback and it is in need of some help. There are trees down everywhere that have to be detoured around (can ur Mr. Padgett at least cut them so the trail is rideable?) no to mention that the trail is washed out and very very rocky now (which is nature, so I can't really complain). Recommended Route: DO NOT RIDE THE WHITE TRAIL......its the trail off of the Estelle Camp site that goes to the top. Other recommended trails in the same area: Estelle Mine Trail is still in Good Shape.

, from Kensington, Ga Summary: As for those opposed to people riding, hiking, and enjoying the mountains. Ya'll just need to get a life and get over it. Find something else to occupy your time please..... Recommended Route: I think that cyclist are more than welcome and courteous while on the trails. I am a local horse owner and really appreciate the consideration that the cyclist show toward us....And as for Alan Padgent...he needs to accept that the mountain has been used for horses and bikes, mainly horses. and quit trying to stop us from riding...We respect the trails and the land. Other recommended trails in the same area: There are 2 many trails to mention, which those that have been here now that
