Trail is mostly single track (after the latest re-routes in August) all built and maintained by SORBA. - The only "re-use" trail of any length is an old logging road used as the in/out - access. FYI - ATV/Motorcycle trails are not typically sustainable -therefore we used little or none of the few existing ones on the site.
Loop Names - Mosquito Flats (Beginner); Dwelling Loop (Intermediate); South Loop (Advanced) - Hamilton's Hop (in/out - access trail) - Shultz Chute - (in/out - access trail to the advanced loop)
From Atlanta, I-75 north to I-575 north, to exit 11, Sixes Road. Left across I-575, trail parking lot is 1.7 miles on the left. If the gate is closed, the trails are closed. Trails are closed the day of, and day following precipitation or periods of freeze/thaw. Trespass laws may be enforced when closed.
Summary: For the proximity to atlanta, they are good trails that are well matained. I have lived by them for the last 7 years so i have seen many changes. Some of them good and bad, the best are the new trails Van Micheal and Mosquito bites(which my 9 year old daughter loves!). the worst are some of the reroutes of dwelling and south loop( there were some wickedly hard sections now gone! that would throw even the best riders off of their bikes). the one thing that i am going to comment on that was over looked by most of the riders recently is the trails change direction daily! and with that the difficulty of each trail except the begineers and trail links.
the dwelling loop is easy to intermidate cw, but intermidate with a very long downhill ccw.
the south loop is intermidate to advanced cw, but advanced to expert with a very changed downhill ccw.
the van micheal is expert to pro cw, but advanced to expert with very flowing downhills ccw.
the day for clockwise are monday, wednesday, friday, sunday.
the day for counter-clockwise are tuesday, thursday, saturday.
Recommended Route: I love all these trails with the long downhills on counter-clockwise, and a plus less people. But i also ride year round here. early in the day or last in the evening are the times for less people.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Fort mountain(powerline drop, the long downhill: and gold mine loop), Bull mountain, and combined with 3 mountain ride

Summary: So, I've only ridden this trail once. It's a good system of trails and pretty much everybody's summary is correct relative to that person. The reason I haven't been back is simple. It was a little dry and loose and the main thing was I felt like I was at the mall! Tons of people. I kinda like to feel like I'm getting away a bit when I ride. Here I was meeting up with people constantly. The advanced trail is a bit less populated but everything else was nuts.
Good trails but tons of folks.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Chicopee! That's about my favorite trail in the atlanta surrounding area.

Summary: Van Michael Trail - 3.9 miles, I have to give it to the people at SORBA Woodstock excellent job! My son and I rode CW, the climbs were mildly steep but short so you can hammer it and just when you start to feel the uphill , down you go again. Very fast banked turns with nice berms lots of switchbacks few roots and rocks but they are there. Look for the beads in the trees and a cliff with the rope in case you fall, great ride.
Recommended Route: See the map at SORBAWOODSTOCK.org for Van Michael Trail AKA area 51 map you will use parts of mosquito flats and mosquito bite to complete the loop.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Fort Yargo SP, Chicopee, Yellow River.

Summary: There is something for everyone at this trail complex. I think this is the best trail within an hour of North Atlanta.
Misquito Loop: Could ride it on a road bike. Great for noobs and the little ones.
Misquito Bite: More elevation change than the loop, a great stepping stone to Dwelling.
Dwelling Loop: A great flowing trail! Constantly maintained in great shape. Been using it for years to measure fitness and handling on the bike. You can enjoy this trail on anything from a hybrid to a Free-ride bike with jumps included, you just have to keep an eye out for them. PR: 16:35. I know this trail like the back of my hand.
South Loop: Great for technical riding. I have NO IDEA what a previous poster was talking about when getting lost on this trail as there are no choices to make once you start. However, it is VERY fatiguing and is great for training because of it. One hour on this trail is like riding two, or even three hours on other trails.
Area 51: The new crown jewel! So smooth you could ride a CX bike on it, so much elevation change and whoops that you could fly on a freeride bike. If you've got the cardio you'll have trouble wiping the smile from your face on this one!
I'm not going to lie, being an aerobic monster will allow you to catch a lot of people out here, but that goes for just about any trail. The only technically challenging trail is the South Loop, and its well marked so you won't stumble onto it by accident. I give this place 5/5. I've take my mom and my teammates to this place to have fun.
Recommended Route: Misquito Loop at a moderate pace for warm-up and bike shakedown. Then, Area 51. Cool down on Dwelling Loop and take it back to the car if you only have an hour to ride.
If you are feeling the beans, ride straight out to South Loop, then Dwelling Loop to recover before hitting Area 51 for a last blast.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Big Creak and Sope Creak are also close, but these are nothing when compared to the Blankets Trail system. Great flowing trails, mild aerobic requirements, and trails that increase in difficulty with speed make this a place you never really outgrow.

Summary: There seems to be some misinformation about this trail system. First off, it's great- there's something for everyone. Second an earlier reviewer claimed the advanced trails would humble any biker. Not so. The advanced trails are not super technical, but they demand good cardio. Even beginner to intermediate riders could enjoy Area 51- just at a slower pace.
Area 51 has the best shaped features in the system-- nice berms, good whoop sections, and great climbs.
South Loop is actually more technical than Area 51. There's more advanced features: a log ride, small (optional) drops. The climbs are also not as drastic as Area 51.
Dwelling is a great loop to get a bit of everything. It has some fairly technical sections, but they're mostly pretty flowy.
Recommended Route: Warm up on Dwelling.
South Loop. Then if there's enough gas in the tank, Area 51.
Maybe ride 51 second. Then South. Mess around on the teeter totters.
Other recommended trails in the same area: Sope Creek: More technical Downhills, with some cool climbs for cardio.
