Big Creek Park
21 reviews
 3.71 of 5

A 1.25 mile beginners' singletrack trail. Very well designed and maintained (by the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association--SORBA--and the City of Roswell), if not all that challenging. Scenic, winds through hardwood and pine forests.

Over the last 1-2 years, our trails at Big Creek have expanded to over 4.5 miles of beginner, intermediate, and advance trails.

Summary:
Big creek varies from begginer to advanced as you go along you pretty much make up your own trail because it has forks in the road that will say most difficult to easy the only bad thing about that is that it makes it easy to get lost in my opinion it a reely good trail to get a good warm up or exersice on.

Recommended Route:
follow the sings of the day of the week and your exparince level.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
blankets creek

Summary:
Mostly flat, rough terrain with there different levels. Trails are well marked. There are decent jump sections made out of log piles that you can avoid by going around. I am 7 and this was my first time on this trail, my dad and I rode the easiest and more difficult and we will definitely go back to ride more.

Recommended Route:

Summary:
This trail is for beginners, intermediate AND advanced riders! Trail flows pretty good. Fun obstacles to maneuver over, and some to master - like the teeter totter, 2x6, and 30 ft log! Other obstacles include a narrow high-bridge, rock garden, lots of log piles, burms. There is also an advanced section in the very back - almost like a BMX course with big jumps, tabletops, snakey reservoir twisty-turns, rock drop-off. I recently bought elbow/knee pads! I will definitely use my pads for the 30 ft log as well, as it is about 2&1/2ft up and only about 8 inches wide. There are no major hill climbs or downhills on this course, but it is still worthy of a high score for all the fun obstacles! Definitely stuff you dont find other trails.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Sope Creek, Blankets Creek, Conyers Horse Park (further away, but worth it)

Summary:
This trail has been expanded since I've been there last. It's a small but very fun trial. Also, it has very good markings to let you know which way to go on the normal trails. When you get way in the back of the trail in the difficult sections, you can get lost and stuck in a loop. It's not that much of an arobic workout (for me it is though) for serious X-county riders but it's fun and easy to get to. I used to go to Yellow River, but since they've hacked up the trail and removed its gonads, I've been coming here and it's fun like Yellow River used to be.

Recommended Route:
Depends on the day but on Sundays and Mondays I take the first "more difficult" fork to the right about 2min into the ride, then take that all the way until you get to the two "easy route" signs on the side of a hill. I go to the right to go back to the beginning of the trail (this also keeps you going in the right direction). I'd like to map out a longer route in the back but I'm getting lost at this time.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Slope Creek at Chattahooche River.
