Ride up FS 205A to where the singletrack begins on the left near the radio towers. It rollercoasters along Taylor Ridge for 4+ miles on wide, leaf covered singletrack that affords some nice winter views.

Trail Directions
Numerous sections are possible, I've explored the two "singletrack" sections. The northernmost section starts off the east side of West Armuchee Rd. just south of the Chattooga/Walker county line. It follows a grassy forest road to the top of Strawberry Mountain and then cuts off to the left on apx. 1.0 mile of rocky forest singletrack before dropping down the other side on a fast (muddy) ATV road. For the section reviewed here, drive up to the crest of Taylor Ridge on U.S. 27 and look for FS 205 on the south/west side. Go 0.4 mile up to FS 205A (gated) and park.

Summary:
For best results see the North West Georgia SORBA web site. They have worked very hard to create these trails and make them one of the best rides in Georgia. On their site they have maps and directions and elevation profiles. Disregard the elevation profiles at your own peril. No. Just kidding. There are great climbs on these but they are part of the fun. Go. Do what you can and then drink a beer.

Recommended Route:
The South section has more options and is less challenging than the North section. There are a couple of forest service roads and trail choices that I don't know. Yesterday, we rode an out and back from the Pinhoti Trial Parking on Hwy #136. We drove up I-75 to #136 and turned right off of the high way. After about 11 miles we got to the parking where we started. We just did an out and back on both trails for a total of 17 miles in about 2:38. I know we didn't win the time trial but we did drink a beer. Woo hoo.

See the NWGA SORBA site for more directions.
