Ridden Trail: Every few months

Cross Country Rider Summary: Good trail, but still primarily for horses which keep the muddy areas along Jones Creek torn up. Ties in to an infinite number of loops. Tril 2G is great fun but needs some clearing after the summers hurricanes. Trail 3E another good option which can tie into the Bull mountain trails via trail 1 and Jones Creek Ridge trail. Ride early and yield to the horses on the way back. Recommended Route: Jake to 2G to No Tell to Turner's Creek to 3E to Jake Other recommended trails in the same area: Montgomery Creek on wet days. Dawson Forest on dry.

Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Suwanee, GA, USA Summary: I am a beginner/intermediate, so for me this ride is just about right. Technically, it is relatively easy. You start out going down a fairly long and steep trail (since this is a loop with an extension keep in mind that you will have to ride back up that hill on the way back). From there, you follow a ridge and then descend down into a ferny, marshy area down near a creek. The second half of the loop is mostly forest road. If you like, you can combine this ride with Turner Creek + No Tell for a nice 13-14 mile ride. I've seen lots of wildlife here (deer, turkeys, rabbits, etc.), even more so than on neighboring trails. During the week you are totally by yourself, but watch out for horses on weekends. Trail is closed during firearms hunting season and before 10:00am during bow season. Recommended Route: Park at bottom of Jake mountain parking lot. Ride back to trail head at gate. Ride down mountain to cross Jones creek (mile 1.4). Go straight until trail marker and turn left at trail 3-C (mile 2.3) then take right onto trail 3-E. Continue until trail intersects forest road 28-1 (mile 3.4). Turn right on 28-1 and ride to and turn right on forest road 28-B (mile 3.7). Bear right as you pass forest road 28-G (mile 4.0). Turn right back onto trail at mile 5.3, then make a left back at trail junction to complete the loop. Continue back down extension, back across creek (mile 6.2) and back to start, about 7.6 miles. Other recommended trails in the same area: Turner Creek, No-Tell, Jones Creek, Montgomery Creek
