Trail Directions
Just wanted to find a way to place a heads up. The trails are a blast to ride but everyone needs to stick to the path that leads into the trail head. The last few months the farmer who owns the horse far next to the trail has been complaining to the local police about people using the access raod that boarders his property (if you have to open and close the gate then you know what I mean). Please don't use that way to get in and out of the trail, I know it sucks using that bumpy trail but we have to or we loose the use of the trail all together. The folks down there have worked too hard to keep the trails groomed and a lot of fun for that to happen...........Thanks to all..

Summary:
You would be hard pressed to find a more fun trail this far South in Florida. This trail has skills areas, drops, big dips, some short intense climbs and tons of winding single track.

It also seems that the Florida Water management is getting more cooperative and the trail is really flourishing, great place to ride!

Recommended Route:
Main and side loops, all fun, lots of roots

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Halpat, Ocala

Just an update, SFWMD has taken a bit of a turn and it being alot more cooperative. While there are still many things that need to happen for this to become a legal trail were no longer at odds with any of the parties involved and hope to have legal access soon!

Summary:
This trail is currently out of commission. In correction to a previous post, it is not at the fault of the new owners of the land, who have been very protactive in trying to keep this trail alive, but by the staunchness of SFWMD and their BUREAUCRAZYSTALINSIMNESS. Though they have tried to disguise their reasoning in any many ways, it basically comes down to $$$, as usual. Show me the $$$, we give you the land.....

Recommended Route:
None at the time. Overgrown wasteland thanks to SFWMD

Other recommended trails in the same area:
None.

Summary:
Bad news. This trail has been closed by developers who bought the property. There's a fence with no trespassing signs. I imagine some guys are still sneaking in, but that might not be good P.R. for the trail people trying to get the trail re-opened somehow.
It's a shame, because it was the best trail between Ft. Lauderdale and Ocala or Lakeland.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
nope

As I understand it, the developers who own the land (IDI), St. Lucie County, and the Airborne MTB club have reached a deal on having the trail. IT IS BEING BLOCKED BY THE SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT!

THIS TRAIL NEEDS YOUR HELP! GO TO http://www.airbornemtb.org AND GO TO THE FORUMS!

CALL THE SFWMD AND LET THEM KNOW YOU ARE ANGRY!
