Summary:
Nice trail. Just refurbished and improved? Its not a long trail but fun. Sort of lke amore intense version of Environmental Trail in Casselberry. Lots of blind drops and steep bowls. Also a few bridges and other tech stuff. Fun ride, keep fast and keep hydrated.

Recommended Route:
First parking lot on left. The map near the center bowl section tells you to start on the left-side trail and follow the signs. Well marked and one-way traffic keeps its safe and fun. Section that runs along back of the trail near the RR tracks is alot more intense, you have your choice to turn home or take the left to the more challenging area. lots of steep bowls.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I like the endless trails at Snowhill the best, with Envronmental Trail a close 3rd. to DeLeoen's 2nd.

Summary:
the cross contry trail ridden from north west at the parking lot, clockwise around with a rough figure 8 on the south side(double ride the central trail on the south side) is sweet rolling. xc will change in elevation from 5' to 15' regularly, there are a few level places to catch your breath usually tight single track. the trail moves nice and is mostly hard pack with a clay and sand mix for a base. the climbs and drops can be steep with no visibility on the other side of the hill or turn, making two way riding on the xc trail not very smart. you have heard of poision ivy? some people are more sensitive to it than others, but its there, waiting for you to make a mistake. i still think the xc trail is worth it, ok yep its short, xc = 2 1/2 miles, maybe, awesome at a fast pace. when you get dizzy or tired try the jump bowl and the area around the central trail north. some great natural stuff, and when time allows work is going on building some freeride and jump challenges.
through the work of jc and ms the county has given us permision to be out there and open up the area to bicycles. the county doenot want trouble or additional liabilities so please; stubborn and stupid will get everyone nowhere.
the area around the trails in chuck lennon park need responsible people to build an area that has something for everyone.
the rulles i follow; dont leave any trash, dont build a difficult trail feature in the middle of the cross country trail. anything that is difficult should have a clear fall area and an alternate route. ride with your head and have safety gear on.
there is a map posted at the entrance to the first jump bowl, for now some orange tape marks some of the cross country trail.

Recommended Route:
us hwy 17 to deleon springs
west on ponce deleon blvd (north end of town) follow to accross the trailroad tracks.
left on burts park road and follow it around to green field dairy road.
south on greenfield dairy road to the first parking lot on the left.

chuck lennon park is just south of deleon springs state recreation area.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
santos
spruce creek
grand swamp
snow hill

jpeterson, your review above is for Chuck Lennon Park. I do not understand why this is under "Deleon Springs" when your recommended route takes you to "Chuck Lennon Park" which already has a review. Unless I'm missing something this review for "DeLeon Springs" is a duplicate of "Chuck Lennon Park". I stopped at the park entrance and asked the ranger where " Deleon Springs" bike trail was, per trail directions above, and they only know about Chuck Lennon park.

the trail area is pretty much unrideable, the hurricanes knocked over trees. the trails could be reopened with a little tlc

Recommended Route:
just the drop ins and jumps for now.....

Other recommended trails in the same area:
nothing in the area... snowhill is ok.. great for singletrackers.. not much airtime. going to flagler next week.. we'll see what that has to offer after the hurricanes.
