Summary:
Excellent Cardio work out!!! Fire Roads make it a bit of a challenge. Pretty much flat for the most part. Encounter some alligators, iguanas, snakes, bobcats and birds with 6 to 7 feet wingspans along the way (don't worry gators are in the water, iguanas hardly move, bobcats runaway and the snakes you won't see till you bike in the southern region like Southern Glade trail, but you'll see them way before you're in close distance!!) One or two trick hills along the way but nothing big. Great alternative for MT bikers living in kendall or just south dade who usually go up to Markham or Oleta. As always bring a repair kit(even though I've never had to repair my tire) and water. I usually never stop, just one or two minutes...wait longer and the bugs start coming!! Keep the Cardio up by riding 3 to 4 times a week and then head up to the Big trails on the weekend!! Try to bike early in the morning or a few hours before sunset. I rate this trail a 4, because this is just one of many trails in the Greenway Network, totaling to 194 miles. All of the trails connect. For starters go out about 10 miles and then back 10. Increase each time you go. Maybe one day we can have a group going out there into the farther regions on the trails!! Here's a map to give you an idea. http://www.tacketc.com/sftrd/trails/big_map.html

Summary:
A lot of limestones. Easy to get flat tire. No advance technical rides. At the begining you have to climb maybe 3 feet up just once, once u are on track you will ride about 20 to 25 miles to everglades. Extremely HOT. Best go in Jan or FEB it is cooler and no mosquitoes. IF you go now, You will burn like stove. This trial is good for easy riding. Good for 80mm shocks. Any bikes, as long as you have off road tires.

Recommended Route:
go Kendall Drive which is 88th street, all the way to 177 avenue which is krome avenue make left keep going until 136 you will see sign says water canal cross that bridge park on your left.

Other recommended trails in the same area:

Summary:
25 miles one way of fire roads built over a dike. Can connect to the Southern glades trail and create an even longer ride(80+ round trip). Check out the side trails at the trail head for more excitement.

Recommended Route:
krome ave to sw 136 st. Turn west on 136st until 188 ave. Trailhead and parking there.
